Tonight at 11pm est.  Just saw it on my Digital Cable Guide.  Didn't see this posted anywhere.  I know G4 is terrible, but they can't possibly mess this up

Gamespot might have it, but the site seems to be down at the moment.

Possibly messing it up?

THEY JUST PUT IT ON FUCKING COMMERCIALS.

A LIVE media event...and they're running cheap-ass commercials for clicktogetitfree.com.

Amazing.

yeah...this is total BS.  they've been advertising all along that it would be uninterrupted and commercial free, yet we just missed the whole Mass Effect demo because they were showing stupid shit.  the streaming coverage on their website wasn't interrupted, but i didn't realize that until it was too late to catch the Mass Effect stuff as well.  totally lame icon_evil

and from the looks of kevin's live blog on the front page, we completely missed a trailer for a new Viva Pinata as well...

They came back just in time to confirm Mass Effect in November.

But yes, I'm not impressed by the professionalism of the G4 broadcast crew.

Observation:  Rock Band will be very very fun.

Observation:  10 seconds of Crash Bandicoot footage is too much Crash Bandicoot.

Edit:

Just as Jeff Bell says "new controller...", we get a black screen for ten seconds, and now an Army recruiting commercial.  Nicely done, G4!  I can only hope we miss all of the exciting new stuff.

they are seriously screwing this up...yet another stupid commercial break.  i'm still watching, but i now have the streaming broadcast running on my laptop at the same time.  there's about a five second delay, but i can unmute the laptop and catch whatever they're covering up with commercials on tv.  i can't believe they have the guts to claim exclusive televised coverage of a live event with such short periods of time focused on each item, then go to commercial breaks that are several minutes long every ten minutes.  if i were MS, i'd be incredibly pissed that G4 is screwing up the coverage that they helped advertise.

and it looks like they've screwed up the webcast as well...image is zoomed in to where you can't even see the whole thing.  they're chopping off the bottom and right side of all the footage online.

Wow. What an absolutely fucking stupid company and TV program.

But I guess they gotta make their money somehow - by being stupid ass fucks.

Glad I'm not watching it (or even get the channel).

And the director isn't doing such a hot job either. Yes, why don't you just zoom out while MS is showing new games on the big screen so that we can't make out any details of what's going on; we really did need to see the crowd sitting there silently.

you think it sounds bad so far?  they just went to a commercial during the second half of the PGR4 demo and completely missed all mention of Lost Odyssey, including the trailer that lasted a couple minutes.  they did show us a quality commercial about how to become a game developer at Devry though... I watched the G4 coverage (61" TV > small window in 20" monitor) with my laptop next to me so I could see what happened during the commercials.

They really could have coordinated this so much better.  And I blame MS (and presumably Sony and Nintendo if the coverage doesn't improve today) as much as G4- MS knew it was being broadcast (Moore said as much in his opening speech) and considering how many times MS must have rehearsed the show then they should have sat down with the G4 producers beforehand and mapped out exactly when they should go to commercial and for how long (ie when we start the power point about sales numbers it might be a good time for a commercial break).

Or, even better, MS, Sony, and Nintendo should all sponsor the broadcast so they can go commercial free.

Well, start blaming the others then - I'm watching the Nintendo coverage on G4, and have missed half of Reggie's speech.  Press conferences aren't broken up into convenient commercial-break-sized chunks, so I'm not sure it would really make sense to attempt to show ads just during the slide shows anyway.

I did, however, get to see this commercial:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwlE1aASc4g.  That's worth something - especially to the GT readers in the Phoenix area! slywink
