I'm terrible at MK, but I love the world and loved Mortal Kombat (2011).  May not be a day one, but will likely get it.

If that is actual gameplay footage than that is really impressive.

Pretty sure that's not ingame.

It's pretty obviously not, not because of the graphics, but because of the animations. They look fake and unresponsive, and nothing like what would work in a fighting game like this. We should probably look at this as some sort of target render, but I sure hope they improve the animations, because the ones in this trailer need a lot of work before they'll look believable.

I wish I had the patience and focus to learn move combinations for fighter games like I did as a teenager.  Today when I see an in game list of 20-30 moves per character with corresponding inputs, I think part of my brain just shuts down.

Hehe, yeah me too.  I get excited when I see games like this but then I remember how much frustration I had trying to do combos in the last Mortal Kombat and figure I'm just not meant to play them.

The moves are definitely slowed down.

However, they may be trying a slower system in general. Something more akin to playing say, Fight Night, from the early 360 days where attacks and movement had weight. Same for the animation linking/interactivity. They could be trying to have the animations in the MK universe while also being slower, to flow better between attacks, and between the two fighters.

All the background interactivity stuff is where they were headed in the last 3 MK style games (including the DC Universe games).

I just want a new equivalent to MK Shaolin Monks. Man did my son and I ever have a blast playing that co-op. The 2011 MK game was decent, but I'd rather have another MK that was solely focused on adventuring.

Yeah, I could totally go for that!
