Missed the party on the Killzone series - Question on part 2

So in between all the great new releases coming out this month, I am trying to get through a backlog and I threw in Killzone 2 and have played it quite a bit. My first thought is it seems to be the best shooter I have played where I cannot hit anything for the life of me. I just finished Resistance 3 and with that and any other shooter, i don't give much thought to my aim. With KZ2, it seems like I have noticed instance after instance where I am right next to someone and through the chaos, I miss them completely quite a bit. I cannot tell what it is but maybe the aiming is too touchy. Am I imagining things or was there something talked about with aim on this. I wonder if KZ3 is more of the same?

There was a patch to adjust KZ2's controls because at first they were really floaty.  Did you get that update?  You might have to initiate MP for it to download, iirc.
