Microsoft Skipping Gamescom (Nintendo too, but not Sony) and TGS this year

to focus on 'smaller events'.  I can see them not really caring about TGS with the reception they've gotten overseas, but Gamescom was starting to become pretty big and they've announced some major titles there in the past.  perhaps the lackluster reception at E3 is making them rethink their presentations.


from what I've heard Nintendo is also skipping Gamescom this year; I wonder how that is going to affect the show.

Perhaps it really is time to show off the nextxbox,this can only fuel the rumours that the 360 is running out of steam

I am surprised with Nintendo though with the Wii U to be out this year(if that is still the case)

Sony has confirmed they will indeed be at Gamescom, which would be kinda dumb for them to skip now that their two competitors are skipping.

here's the article that confirms Nintendo is skipping the show.  and I agree with MO, with the Wii U coming out it seems odd to not take every chance to push it.
