Microsoft: Once every 3 years isn't enough for Halo

this really isn't a big surprise, but it sounds like we can expect more Halo and less waiting now with Bungie out of the picture and they have someone else taking over the franchise.  They say it won't quite be annual, but I wonder if that would change if they games continued to be megasellers.

Before that VP gave this quote:

He should have checked out he history of Nintendo's Zelda - average release interval of 3-1/2 years since Link to the Past [SNES] and all but 1 have been major sellers. IMO 3 years is just about right and I wouldn't want it more frequent if it diminishes quality. Not that I don't want lots of Halo, but I also don't want the franchise driven into the ground.

I don't see a job opening for 'sit around and look up LOLcats all day long' with a salary of $65,000 and 7 weeks paid vacation a year listed, so I'm going to have to decline

Translation: MS sees the massive sales CoD does every year and wants in on some of that.

Agreed. More of the ODST quality and I would not mind a shorter wait. A bit longer campaign would be nice but I enjoyed it immensely.

It'd be a heck of a way to get the hardcore into Kinect
