Up on gametrailers.com.  I'm sure it will be everywhere before too long.

Also lots of info at the mercs2.com website.

Nice to see they showed actual gameplay instead of a prerendered movie.  Game looks damn good, and I can't wait to use a grappling hook to zip up to a helicopter and take control of it.  Looks like there is a much wider variety of vehicles this time around as well.

All I know is that there's co-op multiplayer in this one, so it's a buy.

Holy shit I want.

And excellent choice showing pretty much nothing but off-angled gameplay footage. It's not quite the real thing, but it's far better than the usual pre-rendered stuff.

To address the Venezuelan issue, would it have really been any worse off for the game to take place it in a fictional or unnamed South American country?  I don't fully agree with Chavez, but I can see where an outside party like him would think it a bit unnecessary and perhaps suspicious that a company like Pandemic, who does work with the US military, would place the first game in North Korea and this one in Venezuela where "power-hungry tyrant messes with Venezuela's oil supply".

Gosh, that doesn't sound at all like what really is happening down there...

Watched this last night with an ear-to-ear grin on my face. My Fair Lady though said she didn't understand why I would consider it fun to blow up everything in sight. I replied by asking her if she'd witnessed the clip where the mercenaries take out a sniper by launching a cruise missle at the building he's in. I then said, "That's about the right answer to the problem." She snorted and walked off mumbling something about "men!"

I think I may have found the 360 system seller I needed. Combine this with Dead Rising and Mass Effect and I doubt anyone will hear from me again.

These games are so over the top that it shouldn't matter. While it may scare some people into hating Chavez who did not already, the media has been shouting bloody murder about Chavez, and cheer-leading the US-sponsored coup in 2001, that it isn't anything different or new. Also, how much did you learn about North Korea from Mercs? Do you know feel it'd be great to start a war with North Korea because of the game?

I guess the better question, do you actually know somebody who did?

I actually never played the first one. I heard great things and a friend of mine swears by it. Oddly enough, I never played it with him...I will definitely check this out though. Trailer looks cool though.

About damn time noob. Get it. I will get this on 360 for the usual reasons unless there is a compelling reason to get it on PS3-better graphcs/framerate/downloadables, etc.

Also-is Mercenaries 1 backwards compatible on 360, and if not, is the PS2 version worth playing?

It is on the BC list iirc.  I still have it and haven't fired it up.  I think perhaps I'll do so tomorrow night though. biggrin

It is BC and plays pretty well with a couple of minor issues.  Sometimes the minimap just goes blue.  You can still switch to the big map on your pda if necessary.  And the game will hang... sometimes a lot in areas.  As I recall the game would do that on the original Xbox as well.  Mainly just save a lot.

Still a really fun game.

Watched another trailer today.  It showed the Fuel air bomb.  Not quite as impressive as it is in the first one (my feeling) but still very fun.  Also... GIMME GAME GIMME GAME GIMME GAME NOW!

Ahem.
