Played through the rest of SP and a ton of Sector Control MP this weekend. Enjoying the game still.
Their skill rating system seems to work pretty well, at least for one person. I have some good matches, some bad matches and a few average matches.

Jarrod I tried to get you into a party last night. I've been basically playing Sector Control since that night with you and Hadron. Much more fun than just straight up deathmatch of the combat mission crap. I just got to rank 8 with the rifleman and I'm 7 with the specialist. The unlocks are awful and take so long, I don't like it. The spawn system is also the worst I've ever seen.

Sorry about that, I have to be at work at midnight, you popped on right as I was finishing up and heading off to get ready for work.
Also was having some bad matches that made me say things that should really not go over party chat.
The spawn system has some horrible quirks to it. Especially on Gamhir town. You can get locked into a spawn area with only two, easily covered, exits. Even when you get a control point, it will keep spawning you in that corner. Also, spawning 3 times in a row in the exact same spawn point, only to get instantly one-shot by a sniper gets old quick. I swear they didn't play test several of the main spawn points.
Still enjoying the game over all.

FYI, the GamingTrend review was used as part of Kotaku's Frankenreview.

Cool, couple new maps, along with redone versions of a couple more. New mode that sounds like 1 life Team Assault. For free.
Only a week before COD hits, but, should be fun for that week.

I just sold my copy on amazon. I finished the SP campaign and put about 10 hours into MP. I enjoyed the SP portion but the MP was frustrating. I had too many instant deaths on spawning and 80% of the players were playing snipers. I got my moneys worth out of it but I wish the MP had been a little different.

I popped it in for some MP, played a round and a half, and ejected it. I'm done. The laggy, floaty movement, and the spawn-step-die mechanic raises my blood pressure. After mere minutes of play, I'm not having fun. No one else is playing it on my friends list anymore, and Call of Duty comes out in two weeks.

Yeah I enjoyed my MP time, but I sold it already and will be in for Black Ops.

If the spawn, step, and die mechanic causes a rise in blood pressure, perhaps you shouldn't play CoD:BO?

At least if it's to other forum members, I don't get so worked up.

Haven't had much time to play anything the last week or so. Hoping to play a bit this weekend at least.

Any impressions of the Frontline pack-in on the PS3? How does it compare to the PS2 version?
..to answer my own question: The "digitally remastered" (as opposed to analog?) version of MoH: Frontline is marginally better than the PS2/Xbox original version. They adjusted the FOV to accommodate widescreen, which is nice (Sega, take notes). Many of the textures have been redone/up-rezzed, and the character models look a bit better. A couple of new control schemes have been added that make it feel a bit more modern, but the controls in general are still pretty floaty. And the overall gameplay definitely shows it's age - for the most part you're being shuffled from point A to B, German troops conveniently show up whenever you man a stationary machine gun, maps are pretty small, etc. A decent upgrade, and a nice bonus; but it wouldn't be worth paying extra for unless you were a big fan of the original.

Finished it the other day. Besides the fact it was stupid short (shorter than MW2) it was entertaining most of the way through.
A couple of points. It was also stupid easy on medium. I'm talking running around HALO style without cover under heavy machine gun fire easy. Also i didn't realize how dated the Unreal engine was until comparing this game and MW, at least this version of it.
Basically, had this game come out around say, Modern Warfare 1, it would have been great. However it didn't and I will probably be trading it in for CoD:BO. (Which Gamestop is offering a bonus 25% if you trade anything in toward COD.)
