Yup, I've been told by friends that work at other local studios that they have some very good talent. They were originally Barking Dog Studios which was founded by ex Radical Entertainment staff. Before being bought up by Rockstar to make Bully they created Homeworld Cataclysm for Sierra, since Relic was committed to other projects at the time. If they're like any of the other studios here, they'll have their fair share of ex Relic, EA and Radical staff; probably even have some Vancouver expatriates that have returned from the cold confines of Bioware-Edmonton. I recently replayed Max Payne and loved it, so I'm IN day 1 for this!

Loved the first 2 games. Different dev of course, so here's hoping they don't screw it up.

I loved Max Payne 1 & 2. I'm not excited about a new developer though. I'm cautiously optimistic.

I'm definitely interested in all shootery 3rd person things. Given though that Remedy's no longer involved with the franchise (they appear to be busy trying to convince fans their Alan Wake game isn't vapourware), I've got the same wait-and-see feeling I have with the new Operation Flashpoint game (which isn't by the original's developer either). Of course, given that a lot of fine games with "2" and "3" and "4" in the title weren't by the originals' developers either, I probably shouldn't worry.

The developer was responsible for "Bully" which was one of the better GTA clones out there. That is at least cause for some hope.

I'm a huge fan of the Max Payne series, not because of the gameplay but because of the film noir story-telling. If the new developers can do that portion of the game right I don't think there will be too many complaints.

OT I look forward to a new Max Payne. Myself though, I could do without the noir story telling element and just have the action. I like the little secrets though..like in MP2 there was a room you could get to that had a Buffy reference in it.

that was in the hotel level from the first game. you had to break a window, climb out on a ledge and then go into another window to find the guy with the stake and 'Buff...' scrawled on either the floor or the wall.

Very short trailer. It does have a date, though - Winter 2009, and it sounds like Max's voice actor is back.

definitely sounds like him. I never realized it, but it's done by James McCaffrey, the same guy who plays Tommy's dead cousin Jimmy Keefe on Rescue Me.

The noir story telling is what really sets it apart imo. Sure bullet time was neat at first but the setting/atmosphere, goofy dialougue etc is what makes me come back for a second third and fourth play through.

I tried to dig up some info on this via a few friends at Radical who previously worked with some of the Rockstar team, but as per usual got no where with it. All I know is that the dev teams clocking some very late nights with it, which is usually a good sign in this neck of the Woods. The fact that they're pushing it back probably means they striving for perfection. I've got a good feeling about this game.

Or else they're looking at a trainwreck. This long with no word doesn't bode well; I can't think of the last time ive seen it mentioned.

Saw the on IGN from late last year: Then: Remember this game? Yeah, Max Payne 3 was supposed to ship this holiday. There was even a reminder card packed in with every copy of Red Dead Redemption that Max Payne 3 was "coming soon." Well, 2010 is almost over and we still haven't seen much of it.
Now: If L.A. Noire is indeed coming in the first half of 2011, maybe fans should expect this game in the second half? If L.A Noire sells anything close to what Red Read Redemption sold, Take-Two will have no motivation to put the title out in 2011. With rumors of GTA 5 bring announced soon (with even more rumors of a fall 2011 release) it wouldn't surprise me if this one gets put to sleep quietly.
