Our review is up in case you were looking for something to play on the XB1, or if you're hankering for some 360 XBLA games in the next little bit.

on my list as well.  sounds promising and I liked the first one well enough.  any sign this is going to be on other platforms?

One problem with your review is that you say the original Max and the Magic Marker was "born to a world of smartphones".  It came on out WiiWare and PC before it was ported to phones.

Good catch, thanks! (and fixed).

I imagine it may hit Windows PC at some point.

It's coming out for XBLA in the next month or two IIRC - and I'd expect it to be a Windows 8 game in the marketplace. Press Play was "soft touch" acquired by MS a few years ago.

yeah.  hoping that this hits on the general marketplace through Steam, but I'm not overly hopeful this gets released that way instead of through the 8.1 store.

Out today on 360 and PC for $14.99.  They thankfully did not make this OS-gated to Win 8.

Too close to Watch_Dogs and Transistor, or else I'd be picking this up to tide me over until next week.

Yeah, I'd like to try this out on the PC but I think I'll be waiting on a sale.

Thanks to Xbox Live Games with Gold, I picked this little gem up for free a while back. I really didn't know much about the game, but you can never go wrong giving a free game a chance, and I'm really glad that I did. Max has a great concept that is very well executed, fun puzzle/platformer gameplay, and great visuals that all combine to make one of the better XBLA gaming surprises I've had in a long time. It is a short game, and I'm almost to the end already, but it's been a fun ride, and I find myself already wishing that it lasted a little longer.

If you've been on the fence about this game, pick it up now. You'll be glad that you did!
