If Diane Mizota were kicked down a flight of stairs, she could segue directly into how to earn the Gotham Base Jumper Achievement in Arkham City with greater poise, charisma, and professionalism than Jessica Chobot could muster on her best day. -Autistic Angel

Interesting that you can play this demo(and therefore i guess the game) in 3 ways
Action-Combat difficulty is adjustable, conversation options are gone and replaced with Cutscenes
Pretty sure the squad and Shepard customisation options are out as well
Role Playing-traditional Mass Effect experience, customisation and conversation options, combat difficulty is adjustable
Tried this first,..some of the levelling up is now a little different when selecting what you want levelling up,but overall not much has changed from what i can see
Story-conversation and customisation(your character)options included,less difficult combat
not tried this yet
you can play the demo with the traditional Male of Female Shepards
Online hasn't been activated yet(so no KoA Omniblades for me yet),i have heard two things,A)the online will be activated when the demo is officially due out and B)the online will be activated the day the demo is due out(14th)for people who bought Battlefield 3,and activated for everyone else on the 17th
Demo is in two parts, first part is cutscene heavy while the second part(better part IMO)is action/gunplay heavy, and you wont be disappointed i think if you are a fan of Mass Effect
oh and Ashley looks mega strange
Demo took about 25-30 minutes at the most, but not forgetting that i can not access the online part of the demo yet
I have been on a bit of a media blackout,so forgive me if any of the above has already been discussed

kinda hoping that you can unlock the Amalur reward just by firing up the demo because I'm not sure I want to play it. I know I'm getting the game, so why only eat one chip when the whole bag of them is still weeks away?

It's funny that while I loved ME1 and ME2, I just realized today that ME3 is coming out in a mere couple of weeks and I just haven't been able to muster any excitement for it. Hopefully that changes on March 6th.

ended up breaking down and playing the demo on the 360 to check out the very beginning and the Kinect interface. everything worked fairly well and the graphics were decent. still going with the PC version though, but now the 360 version may also be bought.

Keep in mind the PC version won't have gamepad support, in case that matters to you. I'm honestly a bit turned off by the Mass Effect 3 hype machine... It's like that kid in school desperate for attention and doing anything to get it. ME3 peripherals? Check. Launching early copies of ME3 into space? Check.

Played the demo, and single player through, and multiplayer some. It's fantastic. The shooter controls are way more versatile, the design is new and visceral, the ai is sneaky and aggressive, using alot of techniques usually exploited by the player. Voice command is shamefully awesome. Can't help but smile when you start shouting out commands and it responds in kind. It makes team combat much more fluid. It also works with interacting in the environment. "open, examine, and hack, etc". Maybe the most guilty pleasure is voice recognition for the conversation. Really, a movie that converses directly with me? Nerd awesomeness. This is the future of rpgs.

The "unlock an additional character" DLCs for ME2 weren't worth the money... hope these are better, but I'm certainly not buying any until I play through the game once anyways and reviews of the DLC come out.

Agreed. I felt like a sucker after paying for the Kasumi DLC. I had serious buyers remorse after that one. I'll let others test drive the character DLC this time around.

A lot of details have started to be released, the low Polycount sounds disturbing, but then again it all looked fine in the demo CVGI have not looked in that link within that link, because they warn that there are possible spoilers I have quoted the points below, but adjusted some of them,as they may of contained the smallest of spoilers(very small) more than 100 scenes based on your mass effect 2 saves!! * 15-20 hour-long main quest * Around 40 hours playtime in total * 90 minutes of cutscenes * No loose ends or cliffhangers, the game is truly an appropriate end to the trilogy * More than 100 scenes, conversations and/or events change depending on our choices after importing a save-game from ME2- from something small like someone thanking us for completing a mission to bigger repercussions which would be to spoilerous to write down- you are definitely going to feel the consequences, and not always like them * If and how many of these quests we complete influences how the game ends * While the game can be enjoyable for newcomers as well, because the game is strong on its own mechanically and story-wise, it is recommended to play the first two entries to make more sense out of the wealth of information that the game builds on * The Role-Play mode of the game (In contrast to Action and Story) feels very much like ME1 * The game gives you more opportunity to customize your Shepard. Each class has 8 talents with 6 levels each, and up from Level 4 there are two branches to choose from to level up each individual talent differently. Weapon customization is also a factor and noticeable, but the effects (which have both pros and cons) are only marginal * Balancing isn't optimal * The game is noticeably more difficult up from Medium", which makes using the correct weapon mods and talents integral to survive. Shepard also shoots more accurately in cover. * The AI, on the other hand, is still not very advanced * There are multiple turret sections which aren't very well directed * Despite the shortcomings in level design, which are similar to ME2, the game is constantly thrilling, spectacular and dramatic- largely thanks to the well-presented story and dialogue- and there are lot of small and large choices again to ponder on * Scanning isn't nearly as repetitive as before, because it works a lot quicker now and incorporates a new mini-game where you have to navigate your ship away from Reaper threat * The new melee option is fun, but a little overpowered * Graphically, the low polycount, lack of detail and low texture resolution disappoints- the characters are well animated and modeled however, and the overall look, despite its age, is quite moody * Great dynamic soundtrack and sound-effects * Our progress in the war effort is constantly trackable on a terminal on the Normandy

Been finishing up all my ME2 DLC - did Shadow Broker, am 2/3rds or so through Overlord and then I'll do Arrival. I got my lvl 30 achievement, and while I probably won't explore every single system to 100%, I'm doing quite a few and am surprised about how many little side missions I am finding - just a ton of content in the game.
Bummed about the day 1 DLC thing - I might have thought about getting the CE if I had known. But I'm sure I will buy it day 1 because I am a sucker.

the CE is an extra £30 here(making it £69.99),so i think i would rather pay the 800 points, although i do hope that Robotic dog comes available for non CE peeps ..everything else in the CE is pretty meh Day One DLC like this IS annoying..but yeah I'm a sucker also,i want it,and will buy it,unfortunately because i am broke beyond all measures(I have had to buy a new Fridge Freezer and Washing Machine in the last month) i had to give up my plans for buying Gotham City Imposters I am hoping that because of this Day One DLC that doesn't mean that the Online Pass you get with the new game is full of Multiplayer stuff,as that is second to the main game and will be awhile before i even care to be playing that In Mass Effect 2,I did the Overlord DLC yesterday(not very far in the actual game though),it was longer than i thought it was but pretty cool non the less(it was weird because you are in the FireWalker Vehicle, and i hadn't got the Fire Walker Vehicle from the other DLC yet..told you i wasn't far in,i got the FireWalker vehicle today),and also done Zaeed loyalty mission,i hope in Mass Effect 3 i am able to rectify for the choice i made...Zaeed's fault anyway

Not to push the hype meter too far past critical, but Tom Chick has been teasing how much he liked Mass Effect 3. That would be a quite a turn-around from his opinion of the second game. -Autistic Angel

I'm enjoying the coop demo enough that I might barely touch the SP at release. Of course I won't have any friends from here to play with since you'll all be ignoring coop until you finish SP, and by then I'll be playing something else, but whatever

In Mass Effect 2,you could transfer your character and then a little into the game it gave you a choice to change things,i just went with all the things i had transferred so not sure if it would work,LOL...however that was part of the story with Shepherd being ...so not sure if it would be possible in ME3,maybe they will have a new excuse to reset some things not sure oh and about Arrival DLC for ME2

You can change you class and appearance for characters imported from previous games. It's a concession for gameplay and user friendliness. They don't want to limit you to playing something you've grown tired of.
Also, the low polycount comments are basically from game site writers not knowing much about the game art creation. The models all have roughly the same polycounts as previous games. Some more, some less. Probably all have slightly more polys overall, but in areas where its less they have better texture maps. I know stuff like Liara's face got a drastic overhaul in Shadow Broker, which carried over to ME3.

Great, because I am a terrible sniper, so Infiltrator is really not ideal for me...
Hmmm.... I like my female renegade more and she ended at a higher level, but I think my male Paragon made better choices... who to play first... I'll probably do Paragon first, but we'll see...
