Just spent the past hour playing Marble Blast online with JLu.  What a great game.  Definitely the best $8 I've spent for an online game.  We'll both probably be playing Monday night.  Who else has this and wants to play?  Looks like up to 8 players a map for some chaos.

JLu and I were planning to play Monday around 8 or 9pm EST.  I probably can't get on until then, but currently I think we'll both be on then.

I have it and it is very fun.  I played multi a little bit and enjoyed it.  I would be up for some multi.  Gamertag is The Grue.

From what I've seen so far, the single player is pretty dull compared to the multiplayer.  My kids like the single player, and its fun, but multi seems like a complete blast.

Just bought it today and I'm really liking it. One question: is there any reason that I can't compare my times/scores with members of my friends list? The overall leaderboard works, but nothing appears for my friends leaderboard.

I played it for a few hours last night, and I did enjoy it. Might just be my first arcade purchase.
Microsoft are real geniuses with live and the hole arcade thing with the demo and stuff you really forget how little is out there to play right now,
or it might just be me.

I am glad to hear that.
While I was checking my scores on live, your left me baffled. What I completed in under 1 min. took you 11-17min.
I was a little worried there buddy.

You know, I tried this on Saturday, but just couldn't get into it for some reason... which is weird, because I'm a huge Marble Madness and Monkeyball fan!

My big addiction with the arcade games is Geometry Wars Evolved.  I also have downloaded the demos of Zuma and Bejeweled 2, both of which are quite fun.

But I still spend more time on PGR3 than anything else on the 360; I'm a racing fanatic and am seriously loving this game.  smile

Of course, Dragon Quest 8 is still taking the lion's share of my gaming time, as it has since it came out.  biggrin

Funny.  I should go through the game and get the scores down smile.  It really is turning out to be a great game for my 5 year old.  He's learning the controls, how to deal with a 3d camera, increasing his coordination, and some basic puzzle skills navigating through the little mazes.  Its also a non-violent game, so really a bonus.  He tends to go through the mazes, and will play with the various powerups as they amuse him.

While I haven't done much with the single player game, the multiplayer marble blast is great.  I can see how you couldn't get into the single player though.  Compared to Monkeyball, single player really is kind of lifeless.

I won't touch Zuma or Bejewled, I don't want those addictions.  Geo Wars is enough.

Well it's probably obvious from previous posts, but I'm in for tonight...

Liking Marble Blast a lot.  Geometry Wars I'm awful at, but have had a lot of fun with as well.  Hexic; now there I managed to complete it all, and I still somehow keep playing.

Yet right now I don't own any games that I need the 360 for.  (Gameflyed them all).  I need Oblivon so I feel less silly about that.

EDIT: gamertag is JLu

Basically you have to collect x number of gems to win.  For example, on one map, you need to get to 48 pts by grabbing red gems (1pt), yellow gems (2pts), and blue gems (5 points).  If you fall off the map, the other player(s) get a point.  While doing this, you get to use all the various powerups to get their faster, or knock the other players off the map.  The megamarble powerup is great to litterly launch someone into 'outer space' to give you more time, and a point, or you can blast them, speed by them with speed boost, etc.

The gems seem to clump in somewhat random parts of the map, so it seems that everyone races to one clump, collects them, and then race to the next spawning clump.  It is pretty chaotic.

Is it the best multiplayer game ever?  Nah, probably not.  But it is a ton of fun, and for $8, I can't think of a better value.

Is it online multiplayer only?  Or can you play local multi with two or more controllers?

Apparently, I'm not alone in my friend's list problem. A lot of people over on the xbox forums are reporting the same glitch-- although they can see the overall leaderboard, they can't see their friend's scores. I'm not sure how it happened, but it is quite annoying.

As far as I can tell, its just online multiplayer.  Someone told me differently though, and I need to investigate it.  I'd love a split screen mode, so I'm hoping I'm wrong.

It is a fun game, but as with all action games, I suck. Haven't tried multi-player yet, but single is fun.
