http://uk.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/mafia2/video/6213414/mafia-ii-walk-through-video-1?hd=1&tag=topslot;img;1

this looks fantastic, can't wait for this

i have seen pictures of this and thought it looked good, but this is the first time i have seen it in motion, the city looks fantastic,i may even go and say the city looks better than GTAIV's Liberty City

15 minutes long, the guy talks you through it for the first 4 or so minutes

also, note no HUD,not sure if that's because of 'indevelopment'..but it would be interesting if they kept it like that,or maybe the choice to have HUD on or off..weapon select may be a chore though because of it

That brief look at the city at night, with the snow falling... nice. If this is the same team that did the first Mafia, I'll be making this a day one purchase. For those who never played the original on the PC, the story telling was more immersive than The Godfather, the graphics great, the city layout detailed (although not as detailed as, say, GTAIV) and the missions... well, some of the missions were damn hard. And very long and if you failed you had to start at the beginning again, which was a drag. Hopefully this new version will be kind to us older gamers who are slow of reaction and have less time to replay missions over and over.

That's the one.  Between Mafia and Halo, I may never try to shoot things in a library again.

Well, there was an easy way and a hard way. You could either show up with just your pistol or...

Spoiler for Hiden:
stop off and visit Joey?'s friend after he's killed and he loads you up with guns.

It definitely made it much easier.

What's cool is that I still rember it so well. That's a mark of an amazing game.

a lot of Liberty City got boring after awhile though.  I'm currently replaying it and I always dread the drive across that one toll bridge.  I've started taking taxi's every where, so I don't notice the size anymore anyways.

i speed right through those tolls,as the police come after you if you are going at a nice speed you can easily get out of their 'circle' straight away

I'll take a smaller, densely packed, interesting game world over a huge largely pointless game world. In other words, don't make it big just so you can say it is big.

Size sounds fine.  I think Liberty City in GTA4 is an amazing creation but most devs don't have the resources to do it as well as Rockstar did so I would much rather those resources be devoted toward making a smaller, more unique area than something that is large and repetitive.

Meaty countryside that has precisely 3 points of interest? No thanks.

I guess I'm one of the few people who doesn't like GTA and most GTA style games but loves Mafia.  The city size doesn't bother me at all.  I didn't enjoy Mafia because I could go around the city doing stupid stuff, I liked it for the tight story line mainly.  I'm hoping Mafia 2 will be similar and they won't GTAify it too much.
