Lumines Puzzle Mode

OK, I understand that you are trying to outline the shape on the screen with blocks of one color.  I get that.

I don't understand why it will tell me I failed though while I'm still working at getting that done.  Give me a chance!  I was getting there.

Are you limited to a certain number of blocks to get the puzzle done?

Or are you restricted to the number of blocks you can have outside the lines (how else can you get blocks up the the horizontal part of the + in the first puzzle?).

Maybe I don't understand just what is required.

There is a time limit.  By the way, I LOVE puzzle mode.  That time limit varies by puzzle and appears in the upper right part of the screen while you play.

Seriously, I had a hard time with the second one - the block.  But it's just lots of fun to play.  And yep - it's a time limit.  So if you don't find a block suitable, drag it to the side and drop it down as fast as possible!

I was confused in exactly the same way, I thought I had to fill in the big grey + superimposed on the playing field.  Nope.  You just want a tiny + made up of 5 single squares, anywhere on the screen, and the + can only have opposite color squares touching it.
