GameInformerLucasArts has announced a multi-year deal to utilize the same engine technology that powers Gears of War.
The new agreement indicates that LucasArts will use the ubiquitous technology of Unreal Engine 3 across all platforms, including mobile, PC, current-gen consoles, and the inevitable next-gen consoles.
"Unreal Engine 3 is a forward-looking solution that shortens the path between inspiration and execution on a wide variety of gaming platforms. We are thrilled to add another exceptional tool to our technology mix," says Zak Phelps, director of technology at LucasArts.
can you imagine a Star Wars game or an Indiana Jones game that looks like Gears of War? this actually strengthens rumours that Spark Unlimited are to make Star Wars Battlefront III,because late last year on their site they put up an advertisement for someone to work on their new upcoming game that was a 'high-profile science fiction franchise 3rd Person Action/Adventure title'...the people they were looking for needed to have experience with the Unreal 3 engine Spark Unlimited also have a counter counting down to Comic Con in 84 days,which we are guessing is when they will announce their game,hopefully the long wait for SWBF3 is over!!

I never played the TIE Fighter game - do you play a bad guy in that game? I was wondering if they could make a SW game where you play a trooper that hunts down Jedi and kills Owen and Beru and stuff. It would be like "No Russian" but in the SW universe.
