Eh, I completely missed the original Legacy of Kain series, so if they can make it as good as I hear the originals were, I'm all for it. I don't think I could enjoy going back to the original games though.

I really liked all 4 of the Legacy of Kain games and it's been long enough since the last that I'm definitely up for a reboot. I'm also not surprised that Squenix would be in favor of Eidos doing a reboot, since I've always felt the Kain series might appeal to the Japanese market. I don't know how well the originals did in Japan, or if they were even released there, but it makes sense that Squenix would want a reboot of games that could potentially do well in multiple markets. Even if they were cheaper DLC games with marginal updating, they'd still be great.

I'd absolutely be in for this. The Legacy of Kain series is what got my wife into gaming.  How can I argue with that??

I won't argue, I loved Soul Reaver on the Dreamcast.  I can't wait to see if the reboot utilizes two analogue sticks.  The only thing I didn't like about the game was the single stick camera, if they fix that I'm definitely IN!

Yes...more Legacy of Kain (if done well) is a good thing.  Great setting and lore.

Totally in for this. I LOVEDLOVEDLOVED LoK: Soul Reaver. Hopefully they can get Simon Templeman and Michael Bell to do the character voices again. Some of the most memorable voice acting ever.

I still remember the opening line from Soul Reaver:

Thanks for that link, Rick.  I was getting ready to plug SR into my Dreamcast just for that intro... and now that I see all the other videos there, I'll be watching them as well.  What great memories!    nod

more evidence points to new LoK game

Square Enix recently registered warfornosgoth.com, which should be familiar to anyone who has played the Legacy of Kain series.

All we know is the name of the domain at the moment, which doesn't offer many clues, but Nosgoth is is where the Legacy of Kain series takes place. And Square Enix is the current owner of the Legacy of Kain intellectual property, so if there were to be a new entry in the series, it would be coming from them

I LOVED the story and voice acting of the LoK games but the actual gameplay was pretty bad.  If they want to keep the same writers and voice talent and move the gameplay in a new direction sign me up.

I loved the original top-down game where you got different swords, and capes and stuff.

I think DarkSiders II captured that feeling better than the Soul Reaver / Legacy of Kain 2+ did, so I'm not sure how I feel about this.

Yay anti-heroes and all - I just hope they can make this fun and interesting without being too derivative of newer games for the sake of trying to keep their game IP "relevant". Eg: Syndicate. What a beautiful waste of an otherwise great game - the co-op gave a glimpse of what the game should have been, but instead it got turned into a Call Of Duty : Amnesiac Cybermen Edition.

Yeah, the original Blood Omen was like an RPG or something. I had it for PSX but never really got far in it. Soul Reaver was a pretty cool game - used the Tomb Raider engine IIRC? Maybe I'm pulling that out of my ass.

Never played any of the PS2 games, but I'm always up for platformy adventure games, if that's the direction they're going in.

Blood omen could be a cool portable game, BTW. even DS's could handle the graphics, or the latest smartphones (though I don't remember the button complexity).
