When I first saw LOL's graphics I was pretty Meh about it but reading the various posts on the forums I am really fired up about it. Their champions page is also good. http://www.leagueoflegends.com/championsThe devs seem to be taking this in the right direction. This year is going to be a good year for PC gaming for me with this and Demigod

You'r really fired up for these kinds of games, eh? ;-)
I found them fun "enough", but not my kind of game in the long run. I think its the fact that I rarely have an hour uniterrupted of playtime, thus not being able to play much MP :-)

A typical DG game is 30 to 45 minutes (yesterday our team steamed the other side in 16!), if you manage to play any computer game without taking that amount of time out you're doing well Longest game I have ever played was 52 minutes. Game start from the car crash which was an hour to get a game going is now typically minutes. However I would agree the difference between an MP and an SP is in an SP you can leave at the drop of a hat in MP you really are letting your side down and in DG you're most likely going to result in them loosing I can't really get into SP games, I just love the randomness that MP can bring (except the trash talk) - although Sword of the Stars and the Witcher I would agree are exceptions to this as they are very nice even in SP. Tals ** midread kinds of games for kid's games lol

S3 have said when they hit 10,000 fans they will release beta keys to all their fans. Currently around 7,500 so worth joining fan site if just to see what it's like. Tals

Demigod is the best one for me not surprising since it's the only one that's out There's DotA... maybe i'll try if this runs on my laptop. I understand it's some mod for Warcraft III. I don't know if you need Warcraft III Reign of Chaos or Frozen Throne... I'll try to run it with my Reign of Chaos and see if it works.

You need Frozen Throne * A computer capable of running Warcraft III * A set of authentic Warcraft III and Warcraft III The Frozen Throne CD * A stable internet connection of 56 kbps or above. * Latest dota map from www.getdota.comIf we didn't have the wealth of this game type in the pipeline I would be joining you but would need to purchase WCIII

ok, done - i bought Frozen Throne (in Poland it's just $5.3, Reign of Chaos is 4.3$ ). Now i'll try this whole DotA and see if it's worth my time . LOL - i bought two games just for mod/map running on them, and not the games themselves

I always think of S2 games as one of the devs who almost want to get to the gamers level - last facebook comment doesn't lessen this Heroes of Newerth Just so all the fans know, we will send information about redeeming for your beta key via facebook fan messaging tomorrow. That means that anyone who gets in as a fan in the next 12 hours or so will get a beta key as well. Again, thanks for the support and look forward to some great gaming this weekend!
Looking forward to this. Tals

OK i'm in as talsworthy. The NDA allows for posting of comments just no video or screenshots. OK where to start - The lobby is an absolute dream, if Brad W is looking to implement better friend support etc he just needs to look at what these guys have done, very quick, clear to see which friends are playing, what game they are in etc. Options to setup Noob only games, pro only etc. It just all makes sense Nice touches like comment after a game, when you disconnect you can reconnect it just is what the DG interface should have been. Gameplay is mind blowing, maps are huge and at this point very confusing, but its going to be worth persevering I think it has a lot of potential. So if you haven't yet get that facebook fan in and for next 30 or so hours the beta is open entry to all. But it is mindblowling complex!

I believe the engine is based on the Savage 2 engine but they have taken the Dota model and tried to remain true to that. I like the game just need to read lots on it

I played a couple of games this afternoon. I would suggest when playing at the moment either join a game that says Noob's only or host one and make it clear. That way when you are rubbish people don't moan at you. Was on a winning team on one and a loosing on the other. Still loads to learn

I've tried 3 public 5v5 and so far all 3 were complete disasters I'm a noob, I know that, but the level of wtfnoobness displayed by my teammates was amazing. I don't understand why they couldn't have been on the other team we had 1 guy quit at the start, and another who was still level 2 when the enemy was hitting level 17. Out of 5 people on the team, only 2 knew you got xp from creeps O_o On top of all that they continued to ignore the concede vote. I look forward to playing on a team that at least understands how things work even if they aren't good at it.

does beta HoN have any singel player to learn the basics of the game? If you have to start multiplayer at first run of the game, it's no suprise there are people level 2 when everyone else is level 17

you can play against nobody and practice levelling up, and equipment which is what I did. However being a beta I don't think it's too much to ask for people to RTFM before playing

I'll be on tonight from your time 10PM. Happy to play hon. If we can get others in here that would be even better. Re playing the game it is level based and you can play a noob only game however as stats have been reset it doesn't work that well. The best way is to label the game appropriately. Also join channel manner if it is there. You can also start a game where you are the only heroe to experiment. Creeps are more powerful in this game.
