Despite its design flaws (sometimes, objects on the battlefield obscure your view so that you can't tell what's going on), La Pucelle just keeps getting better the more I play it.

Great music, and a really good challenge. When you hit around chapter four, and you see how difficult the enemies start to get, you'll understand.

I never got this game.  I've heard its similar to FF Tactics, any truth to that?

Yeah, I loved the last 1/3 of the game.  It took me awhile to get into it, but I played it nonstop for about 5 days and finished it off.  It's a fine game!

It's similar, in that they're both turn based strategy games.

Basically, each chapter plays out similarly (after the tutorial): starts off *hard* and gets easier as you go on because you get more powerful throughout the course of the chapter.

The storyline parts are really great. The cuteness factor (probably a turnoff for some) is bloody great. Although since I speak french (not fluently, but I'm not horrible at it) some of the puns in the game are really really bad. Mt. Champignon being shaped like a mountain and being 'nicknamed' the mushroom mountain bothers me. It's not a nickname, it's the actual name, dammit!

But the awesomeness of the crew of the escargot, that's genius!!!

Come on, catnip fans!
