I'm a rpg addict.  I have lots of nice, rare, psx rpgs and I am trying to constantly expand my collection.  I don't know WHY I do this, but I do.

So today I came across this supposed pretty rare little game called Koudelka.  It's selling for $18.  Four discs, apparently only 15 hours of gameplay, not stellar reviews.  Has anyone played it before?  Should I pick it up?  Answers would be great asap, seeing as how they can only hold it for me until closing today.

I haven't played it but I believe its by the same people who later created Shadow Hearts and its sequel.

Yup, it's actually the FIRST of the three. So, if you really wanted the full story on everything, you'd start with Koudelka, then Shadow Hearts, and then Covenant.

From what I hear, it's not as story heavy as the two latter parts, but still a good little doohicky of a game.

Looking at Gamerankings, the overall it got there was a 57%. On the other hand, IGN gave it a 6.8, and Gamespot a 6.7.

Spending $18 on a 57% game is a bit on the expensive side, agreed. On the other hand, the game itself is slightly on the not-so-easy-to-find category, and if you've the completionist's gene in you, you'd probably want the game just to have the whole Shadow Hearts series under the belt.
