the boom pack.  I grabbed the aerial pack but haven't used any of the items yet, and more annoyingly just after I got it I liberated an air base that always has a jet that looks just like the DLC one in one of the hangars.

So, that's just the same trailer that they released before.  I'm pretty sure the Boom Pack isn't even available yet.

I thought it said Summer 2010.

I was taking out a base last night and the SAM launchers were launching on me.  On the ground.  In the base.  It was brutal and I died 4 or 5 times until I figured out where it was coming from and took them out.

Never had that experience before.  In a helo, yes.  But not while running around on the ground.

I don't understand these saves. I was at checkpoint (when the game autosaved) and had 81% of village demolition. Then i got to 100% and saved game. After few seconds they destroyed the helicopter, so my mission failed. I loaded my save then and the village was again 81% instead of 100%.

I think the mission saves/checkpoint trumps your village progress save.

Did you choose the load your last autosave option or the load game option?

Hmm.  I did not think you could save in mid mission but maybe  I am wrong.  It is a bit confusing for sure.

I think you're right, cause i just saved outside of a mission and it worked. I wasn't testing it too much, but i think this manual saving doesn't saves progress during missions.

btw. maybe some of you can help me with this game and my xbox360 wireless pad. I have this pad connected to PC (wirelessly) and sometimes LB and A buttons freak. Very rarely, but it happened once in demo and it is happening to me now in full version for the first time. I mean when you normally press LB you use your hook and when you press A you jump. Now when i press LB  nothing happens, but when i press A i do two things at once: jump and grapple. Do you know how to fix this? The demo some time ago fixed "itself" (don't know how).
Funny thing is when i change shooting to LB/RB (instead of LT/RT) the LT/RT/A buttons work exactly as they should: LT for grappling hook, RT for evade/sprint and A for jump. Any advices?

So it sounds like this game rocks? Is it worth the $25 to play? What about the extras packs?

I noticed the Steam 50% off Everything (including DLC) Just Cause 2 sale now going on.

I bought it during the recent Steam sales a couple weeks back. There's a free playable demo (just check the Steam page), so give that a try if you aren't sure. I have had some odd (for a third person game) motion sickness issues with it, and I sometimes find "sandbox" games like this and Red Faction: Guerilla a little befuddling. I actually want a little bit of linearity, or I tend to wander around aimlessly, and eventually just lose interest. But the Total Freedom in JC2 really seems like the selling point, and it is pretty wild.

If you're into sandbox, free-form 3rd person actioners, you probably can't do better, esp. for $25. If you're not, then it won't be worth a penny.  icon_smile

What if I wasn't so keen on the original? Just fired it up today, actually. It's okay, but feels too much like GTA3 in the country. Vehicle physics are silly, gunplay is uninteresting, and the unique parachute/grappling hook stuff I'm finding difficult to control (and paragliding seems way too slow). The story and dialogue is silly.

The trailers and videos for the sequel look like most of that is fixed/improved, though.

The second  blows the first one away, then fires a grappling hook at it and rides it to the stratosphere where it jumps off and freefalls down to a thousand feet and opens it's parachute to glide down to a speeding boat and takes off into the sunset.

As I posted in the Steam thread in the deals forum,
Quote
Anyone interested In Just Cause 8-pack? It's 59.99, 7.50 per share. Unfortunately I don't have the spare $60 to organize, but I'd sure appreciate going in on it. If anyone wants to be the money collection monkey, I'll see if I can wrangle up other participants.

On, I presume, until 1:00 pm EST tomorrow (Monday), but I'd need to have my participation sorted out by tonight.

Edit: I won't be checking this thread again. Please go to the trading forum thread if you're interested. http://www.gamingtrend.com/forums/index.php?topic=42406.120. Thanks!

Man, this game is AWESOME!  I've been playing it for almost 40 hours now.  And I just found out an interesting method of taking our radio mast towers.  It takes hitting all three guy wires, but the jumbo jet can clip them with the wings without any impact to the flight characteristics.  Of course, after I did that, the local SAMs engaged...

I didn't get this for steam - all of my time was with a rented copy on the 360, so now I'm looking for a used copy.

You missed out - it was $7.50 a couple of times during the holiday sale.   A no-brainer purchase and well worth it given the 40+ hours I've put into it since.  And I don't generally even like this type of game.  icon_lol

No, I meant Guy wires.  As for the SAMs, you just turn and keep the missile on your 3-9 line and they're pretty easy to avoid in most airplanes.
