wouldn't mind some suggestions on what I should get with it...  games, accessories, anything really.  It is mostly for my wife who loves her DS for games like Warioware, Brain Age, and Super Mario World.  With that in mind I picked up Super Mario Galaxies, Mario Kart, Rayman for her and Resident Evil 4 for me.  What else should I be looking at?  Do I need a second nunchuk?  What about network connectivity?

Get a second Wiimote (buy Wii Play and get more minigames and a Wiimote in one package), another nunchuck, a recharge station for the remotes, the classic controller if you're planning on using the virtual console.  As far as network connectivity is concerned, it has built in Wi-fi adapter, so if you have a wireless network, you're set.

No need to buy a $99 wireless adapter for the Wii - it's built in!

Seconding rickfc's suggestions (and Wii Play has 2 FUN games), but YOU should buy No More Heroes FOR YOU biggrin

Not to mention Metroid Prime 3.  Arguably one of the best looking games on the Wii.

Based upon what you stated your wife's DS tastes are, I think you've got her covered for a while. If by chance you've ever enjoyed light gun games at the arcade or on other consoles, then I highly recommend you pick up a pair of Nyko Perfect Shots and any of the following light gun supported games:

Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles
Medal of Honor Heroes 2
Ghost Squad
Links Crossbow Training (if you can find it preowned)

If you're interested in classic gaming, then as others have already mentioned the classic controller is a must have. Some classic games I highly recommend:

Super Mario World
Super Mario Bros 3
Super Metroid
Star Tropics
Gunstar Heroes
Streets of Rage 2
Donkey Kong Country 1, 2 or 3
Sonic the Hedgehog
Legend of Zelda: a Link to the Past

And because you've already bought Residient Evil 4, a few more mature titles I'd recommend:

No More Heroes
The Godfather Blackhand
Metroid Prime 3

I you didn't have a Gamecube, there are a number of must-have games from that generation that will play on the Wii: Animal Crossing, Rogue Squadron, Metroid, Luigi's Mansion, Pikmen.

I really enjoyed Endless Oceans. Not really a game, its an scuba diving simulator (in the loosest sense) but it's very relaxing and entertaining. There is a thread around here somewhere with a bunch of impressions.

Reeeeeallllyyyy....

I think I must head to CC.

On-topic, No More Heroes has awesome reviews.  Metroid Prime 3 is a must-have.  Wii Play is a good recommendation for its cost-effectiveness with the dual benefit of a Wiimote and some fun minigames for $50.  You got SMG and Kart, which would have been on my 'you must get' list.  Battalion Wars 2 is good fun and cheap these days, Zack & Wiki is a cult hit.  Big Brain Academy is neat if you're into brain training.I would definitely get a second nunchuk.  If you haven't boxed your wife, you haven't lived.

Well, to be fair, it's still less than the PS3 or 360 with a couple of controllers and a couple of games.

Yeah, there's nothing about the Wii add-ons that are more expensive than the other consoles'.  All of them come with one controller--at least the Wii comes with a game all the time.  smile  Also keep in mind that 360/PS3 games are 20% more expensive than Wii games.

Someone, tell me why I even bother with Circuit City anymore (especially for PC games). I went in today for No More Heroes and there wasn't even an empty space for the game in the Wii section. I asked for help. The guy pulls out this big fat binder and tells me they don't carry the game, but then told me that "We must be out of it" after I showed him the flyer with the game's picture in it. Whatever, dude. They're out online as well. I used to like them, but after they fired all their smart people, the store is totally clueless.

I think that makes me about 0 for 5 in terms of actually finding a sale game at Circuit City over these past few months.

Just going straight to Best Buy to price match is much easier for me, although even Best Buy didn't have this one in stock.

But the Wii is a system that screams "MULTIPLAYER" so loudly that a lot of the people I know end up dishing out another $180 for three more controllers and nunchucks. I don't think that happens as often with the other consoles.

Well in the case of xbox 360 you are dropping about that much the first year to play multiplayer on it.  Adapter plus Live sub.  It's nothing new though.  The 'entry' price for almost anything you buy is lower than the actual price to enjoy the damn thing.

Yup, I agree. I'm not complaining, although I found it funny that one of the reasons I haven't bought an XBox 360 or a PS3 yet is the price, but I quickly dished out $370 on Wii hardware (system, two Wiimotes, and two nunchucks) before I even realized it.

We got our Wii shortly after release and used it for about a month. Then it pretty much collected dust for ten months. But since Christmas we've been using it a ton, mostly for family play. There are so many quality games for it now, especially if you've got little kids in the house, and most of them are better with more people playing.

No luck at my CC. To make matters worse, my CC doesn't organize their games at all. There is no semblance of order to it, so I had to go through all their racks of games to look. It's no wonder why I buy everything online anymore.
