Jurassic Park looks pretty interesting. I haven't been disappointed yet with Telltale's offerings and I'm sure they'll give it the right treatment with their own little touches.

I'm having what seems to be a fairly common problem from checking their forums with BttF - the games won't start. I log in and 'activate' them and there is a Play button but nothing happens when I click it. The menu shows episodes 1 & 2 but it doesn't think I've actually downloaded them or something. I have to run the launcher 'as Administrator' for everything to work as it is supposed to, but that does mean I have to 'allow' the program to run each time I launch it.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, btw.

have you tried making a shortcut to the .exe for the launcher or even the exe's for the episodes (if there are any) with 'run as administrator' checked?  I'm running on Steam so there's no main laucher, I just click on the individual episode in my games list, so that's just a shot in the dark.

Yup. Either of the two episode shortcuts (or the exe files themselves) take you to the launcher in the 'stand alone' version of the game. But I've checked the Compatibility setting for 'Run as Administrator' so it does work now, with that extra confirmation that it's really ok each time however.

Where did you install the game? Behavior like that indicates that you've installed it to a folder your user doesn't have access rights to.

Same place I've installed all of the other games on my system that don't run under Steam - D:\Games - which I don't know why I wouldn't have rights to. I've checked and the Security to this game's files/folders don't seem any different than the others there.  

There are several threads on the official forum about this issue but not any true fix for it yet, just the 'run as Admin' workaround so far.

Sounds like it might just be a bug with nonstandard install locations then. Stick with your Run As Admin solution for now.

download the first BTTF episode for free,so i did all that and installed it and had to install some DirectX stuff..and i get stuck at this part..is there a fix incoming yet?,as i have no idea what 'Run as Admin' is

I just finished Episode 2 and it ends on a hell of a cliffhanger.  I agree it was a little slow to get going, but was enjoyable all-in-all and I can't wait for Episode 3 (which is a tiny wait, since I just finished Episode 2).

Unless you have Steam, where Episode 3 has disappeared from my Library for some reason.  THe other 4 show up (with 4 and 5 grayed out since they aren't out yet).  Hopefully this is just part of the prep Steam does when making this available for download.

I thought episode 3 was okay. The puzzles were nothing to write home about and it's getting a little disappointing to see the same tiny area of Hill Valley ad nauseam. Hopefully episode 4 hits some kind of crescendo because it's all starting to feel really familiar.

true, but with this being on the PC the sky is the limit for what they could do.  still haven't finsihed episode 2 (probably going to get to it tonight) so I haven't touched episode 3, but it sounds like they're falling into the same trap they did in Sam & max season 1 where you got to see the same city street and stores too much during the storyM

So episode 4 of Back to the Future was pretty disappointing. I don't know if I've just lost interest in it or because the series itself has just lost steam. The only thing I got out of playing the 2.5 hour experience was that I'm glad there's one more left. I'm less excited at this point at finding out how they wrap everything up in episode 5 than I am that the series is finally over. The whole thing just felt like it dragged on.

Finished the final episode last night. I thought it was okay. Some of the puzzles were pretty obtuse though. The ending was somewhat satisfying and they definitely left it open for more episodes. All in all, an enjoyable series. I'm kind of glad it's over, the middle episodes really dragged on.

I picked up Back to the Future during the Steam Summer sale for about $12.50 and just finished the last chapter.  Playing through one episode a week, they were a nice way to spend a couple hours out of the summer heat of a Sunday afternoon.  The voice acting could get a little cartoonish from time to time, but the art style made it fit nicely.  The third episode was the only one that dragged a bit -- it seemed to get mired in a lot more exposition than the others.

The only other gripe I have is with the very ending when things go

into full-on Tek Jansen mode.  Back to the Future is equal parts adventure and comedy, but tacking a ludicrous slapstick routine onto the homecoming reeked of desperation for a punchy ending.

All in all, though, I easily got my $12 worth.

yeah, it's going to take Tales of Monkey Island 2 to get me to buy another Telltale series at full price.  I stalled out on episode 2 and haven't gone back.  do they at least get out of 1930's Hill Valley for a whole episode?

IGN has reported that Jurassic Park: The Game will release on November 15 for Xbox 360, PC and PlayStation 3. What’s unique about this episodic release is that every episode of the game will be available on day one. In fact, Xbox 360 owner won’t be able to download the game at all, but will have to purchase a retail disc that includes every episode. An iPad version is also in the works, but it won’t be out until a later date.

This seems like an awfully strange time to abandon the episodic model.  Instead of releasing the first episode when it's ready, they're going to wait and release the whole thing (presumably at $40) during the busiest month in gaming?  Apparently, they have no interest in actually selling any copies.
