John Woo's presents Stranglehold

If you loved Max Payne you're going to love Stranglehold.  It's the video game sequel to Hard Boiled (which I really need to check out) but it looks like it's going to be a fun romp across the globe.

Just wow.  I love The Killer/Hard Boiled and I have read a little bit about this game, but this is the first time I've seen it in action. My purchase of a next-gen console might have to coincide with the release of this game.  I didn't have the sound up when I watched - do they mention if this is an actual level in the game or just a demo?  I did think it was kind of a long time to spend in the same area just running around shooting.  It started to be more like a Tony Hawk game.  But the crotch shot was awesome!

It sounds like it's an actual level from the game.  The developers said they were going all out to re-create the feel of a John Woo firefight, and each time they've played the level things have gone different.

as for the game,i saw a trailer for it a while back,it looked damn awesome...definetly a must buy for me,even more so when you say its a sequel to hard boiled,as i never knew that

I'm near positive I saw that exact same demonstration movie a while ago but I'll be damned if I can remember where.  Either way it looks awesome and I'm glad to see some other people are looking forward to this one, too.

Good lord that looks awesome. I so love Max Payne 2 for this very thing and seeing that level of badassery on display complete with destructible environments means this beauty just shot up to the top of my wish list.

OMG!  Max Payne 1/2 are two of my favorite games.  This looks incredible. Hopefully, I'll have GoW done by then so I can buy it

Hard Boiled is a great movie. The gunfight throughout the hallways of that one place (spoiler free!) is an epic example of action, special effects and camera work.

I saw The Killer.  It was good, but I kept on getting the characters mixed up as it was my first real exposure to Hong Kong action movies and everyone looked the same at the time    I'm definitely going to have to watch it again.

I wish you could find these movies on DVD.  I, foolishly, bought Hard Boiled on ebay and received a clearly copied version that didn't work.  Grrr.

I have the all on DVD.  I go them from Suncoast years ago.  If I remember correctly, I had to have A Better Tomorrow 1 and 2 special ordered.
