For 360:  I'm leaning towards John Woo's Stranglehold.  I need a Max Paynish fix.  Also Mass Effect looks good but I'm not 100% sold on it. Crackdown looks fun but I'm very skeptical.

DS:  Phoenix Wright II hands down.  DragonQuest 9 (I don't know if it's a 2007 release) is up on the list even though I'm probably not going to finish 8 (100 hours?)  But man a great handheld RPG would be awesome.

It's a toss-up between Mass Effect, Age of Dragons (2008?), and Bioshock. I'd probably go with Mass Effect right now, though.

Its January?!?!?!  Thank god for this thread!  I would have never known.  :slywink:

Nothing anticipated, everything I have been waiting years for, came out in 2006.

Maybe Guitar Hero 3 or something I guess, or Settlers for the DS if I had to pick due to a gun to my head.  icon_biggrin

Even though the demo sucked, I'm waiting for Armed Assault. Bioshock also looks really nice, as does Mass Effect.
I may hit up some indie wargame, Forge of Freedom (which is already out) from Matrix Games, as I just read Battle Cry of Freedom, and I feel the need to kick some Johnny Reb ass.
EDIT: How could I forget Virtua Fighter 5?

In the short-term I'd have to say Crackdown.  Then Stranglehold, Colin McRae Off-Road and later on GTA4 (hopefully it is a big leap above San Andreas).

No, just like GTA: London was not GTA2, Vice City and San Andreas were not fully numbered sequels.  It's just the way they do it.

I think the point is, shouldn't we be getting a new one this year. And won't it be a 360 title?

In Japan, yes. In the USA, I have no idea...but we can hope!  icon_smile

At least we should get a demo or something this year in the USA.

all on the 360: Half Life Episode 2, Halo 3, Mass Effect, GRAW 2, any Gears of War addon, Forza 2

I was interested in Lost Planet but I'm not so sure anymore.  I'm currently swamped in a backlog of games.

I am trying not to anticipate any games. I do however, have Rogue Galaxy on the radar. I want to blitz the backlog.

Don't laugh, but probably Madden 08 (360). The reason? Well, if they don't get it right for the 2008 version, I am done with the series.

Outside of Madden it is probably:

Halo 3
Bioshock
Mass Effect
Lost Planet
NCAA Football 2008
Forza 2

and also that Panzer General-like game that is coming out for the DS. Can't recall its name though, sorry.

Will there even be one this year? They take forever on their games and I don't think anything is even announced.

Blizzard has said that they plan to announce their next game sometime in 2007, so I wouldn't count on it this year.
