Well, I guess Avalanche Studios is a pretty good place for this one to be made, after the awesome open-world chaos of Just Cause 2.

the movie has been in the pipline for a good few years....before Mel Gibsons....problems,and i hadn't actually heard anything else about it thinking it may of been scrapped, and now i see it isn't gonna be Mel in the film, but at least its still directed by George Miller

that guy who is playing Max now,i just saw him in Star Trek Nemesis (main bad guy) a few days ago

as for the game,i can see this being a bit more borderlands(or even upcoming Rage) than Just Cause ..with a bit open world,a bit of shooting with a lot of vehicle action in The Outback type scenery ...Mad Max,is also set after a nuclear war of somesort(at least Mad Max 2 and 3)which seems to be popular right now in video games

well,i'm in Tongue

As a post-apocalyptic fan boi, I had to give a minor correction.  Mad Max is not post-nuclear war, but a world where oil has run out.

ahh,i just presumed it was nuclear when Max is telling the kids in Beyond Thunderdome about the planes falling out of the sky,and that there used to be places called cities, not seen it for awhile though...i knew MM2 was all about scrounging for oil,but i just thought that's what it had come to because of the war

guess my MM DVDs are to come down off the shelf soon

apparently the upcoming movie is a prequel,on how Max became 'mad'..and his wife dying etc...which really then is just a remake of the first film, which was a hit all over the world except U.S,that's why Mad Max 2 was just called 'The Road Warrior' in the states(which funnily enough our DVDs in the UK are now called Mad Max 2:The Road Warrior).... probably why they wanna remake it

either that or its a restart, which seems to be all popular these days

just found out Mel Gibson rejected Mad Max 4 script in 2008

Yeah, the timeline to the films is confusing (at least to me) but I thought the oil ran out before the first film and the nuclear war happened between the first and second.

Well, here's a great site that gives a chronology of Mad Max:

Looks like the nuclear war happened between II and III.

It's funny, I watched Max Max on Netflix tonight and started reading trivia. One of the notes said that during press for the Road Warrior George Miller stated that the second movie does not take place after WWIII and then basically contradicted himself in the script for Thunderdome.

Edit: yeah, based on that chronology I guess it could make sense.
