Is there? If scaled to fit the DS screen, a game like Diablo or Diablo II could be fun as hell. A portable tap-fest for sure. Have the upper screen show maps / skill trees / inventory (your choice - not all at once) while the lower screen is the gaming field. With a tap of a button, the game pauses, screens swap, and you can access the other screen to make map notes, access the skill tree, use an inventory item, etc.

I'd hit it.

Children of Mana is Diablo-esque in that it's pretty much just a hack-n-slash of sorts.

I would recommend either of the Shining Force games from the GBA, they both were fairly story lite, quests driven, random weapons and armor system kind of games, essentially Diablo 2 for the GBA, the sequel is considered the better of the two.

Weren't the Shining Force games more turn-based affairs?  More like FF Tactics or Fire Emblem?

I think that Tebunker is thinking about Shining Soul 1 and 2, not Shining Force.

And I think The Phantom Hourglass is going to be somewhat like this, tapping where you want Link to move or attack.

And I loves me my Zelda. If it's done well, it'll probably be the game that forces me to pick up a DS Lite.
