Heck, I'll be playing Halo 1 as soon as I finish off Bioshock. Then Halo 2, then I'll start on Halo 3.

Then again, if there's any way to cut out ~20 hours of gaming, I've got one heck of a backlog... So, is there any way to satisfyingly see the storylines of Halo 1 and 2 without slogging through them?

I think Yahoo also has a 'catch up' video with cutscenes too.  It'll save you the money plus you get to scratch up your game disc yourself!

Here's the entire storyline.

For videos walking you through the stories about the first two games, you can watch the following 4 movies:

Halo 1 (1 of 2) 17min.
Halo 1 (2 of 2) 25min.

Halo 2 (1 of 2) 30min.
Halo 2 (2 of 2) 25min.

Crap, I want to actually finish playing through Halo 2, but I have plans to play Halo 3 tonight with some buddies.  As such, I suspect that the story will be spoiled very quickly, so the urge to read the synopsis is very strong.  But still, I've kept msyelf spoiler-free about Halo 2 for three years now, so it feels like giving up to read synopses.

I know the feeling, I'm struggling with myself on this one.

Myself as well.  I need an uninterrupted evening to finish the first Halo (I think I should be able to finish it up in a few hours), and then I need to re-play through Halo 2 (I can't remember how long the game was, but I should be able to speed through on Normal difficulty just for the sake of refreshing my memory on the story), but whenever I see people playing Halo 3 it weakens my ability to wait until I finish the first two.  And on Friday night I'm almost positive I'll break down to play MP (just versus, though, as I don't want to play co-op until I play through on single player).

well i just bought Halo 3 at midnight launch..where suprisingly enough...they were giving out free cokes and diet cokes and sweets to everyone stood in the queue(about 100)...they had t-shirts for sale, toy figures,360 accessories, school bags and pencil cases...condoms..okay not the last one...they also had competitions(raffle) going on while we waited(i didnt win)...all this, and the Wii last december didnt even get a midnight launch!!

and i had this guy with his friends behind me talking about being able to rip an apple open in half with your bare hands...yup,it was one of those kind of midnight launches!!

i also got super paper mario on for the Wii(finally)

WTF?  My copy of Halo 3 has been sitting at the same distribution center in California all F-ing day.  It arrived there yesterday.  How bloody long does it take to "process" a damn package?  Yet again I should have just stopped by Best Buy on my way home from work instead of preordering.   icon_redface  Although I at least got a 1600 point Live card for $5.  Guess I'll have an extra day to work through the first two games.

No Halo 3 tonight.  I got passed over for a promotion at work, and found out about it at the very end of the day.  When I got home, I decided that putting back most of a six pack, watching last night's The War, and finishing Harry Potter 6 again were a better option than getting teabagged online by 14 year old asswipes.

Tomorrow's my chorus rehearsal, and I think I'm going to see a movie on Thursday.  I suspect the first time the game will go in the system is when I get together with buddies over the weekend.  Life's got an amusing sense of timing, no?

Last night my live listing was 20 gamers logged on, 16 of them was playing Halo 3. I have no screen shots because live on pc was down.
I guess I was expecting my friends list to have more than 50% turnout when Halo 3 launched. Out of the 71 on my friends list I average about 10-7 logged on during peak gaming times. I will have to wait until the weekend to see if it increases.

note to self: check the multiplayer forum the see what game ATB is rallying people together for this Friday.

I think we've just gotten smart and aren't flooding the forum with new posts and instead are combining it all into one post. smile

Either that, or we're all too busy playing the game to post.

Make that two extra days, as my copy of Halo 3 is still sitting at the same distribution center!  Double WTF?  I had lunch at a place right across the street from a Best Buy, and I was tempted to buy a copy and send back my preordered copy, but then I thought that perhaps my preordered copy might show up at the office while I was at lunch, especially since I passed a UPS delivery man at the entrance with a lot of game-shaped boxes (it took all of my self control not to start going through the packages on his cart as he came through the door).

I was mistaken.   mad
