just got this email:

Quote
Wasteland 2 – We Did It!

Thanks to each and every one of you, we have completed our incredibly
successful campaign. It has been an amazing ride and one of the most
memorable achievements I’ve ever had. Being able to interact with
you all on such a personal level has been amazing. I can’t imagine
going back to making games any other way. With Double Fine’s
success, the world was watching to see if that was an anomaly or if
this fan-funded approach could be a viable means of changing the
world of video games. Together, we’ve proved that fan-funding is
here to stay and we can’t wait to see where you take it next. We
are fully committed to doing whatever we can to keep this movement
alive and strong.

Now on to the fun stuff… If your reward tier contained any rewards
where we need to gather your information for use in the game, we will
soon be doing so through Kickstarter first, then we will develop an
online system to merge both Kickstarter and your PayPal pledge
information. Many of you may have transactions split between
Kickstarter and PayPal, or only donated through PayPal. Do not worry.
You will be able to manage your account and update your information at
a later date when this system is live. Keep on the lookout for this
notification. There is no need to update your shipping address yet as
we will collect it when we get closer to the release of the game next
year.

We have opened up a store at http://wasteland.inxile-entertainment.com/store
. We currently have the digital copy available for $20, and we will
leave that preorder up during production. If you have friends that
missed out but still want a copy of the game, they can go there and
still get it cheaper than after it is released. Also, if you forgot
to add $15 for international shipping on physical rewards, we have
added a PayPal option to do so in the store. In the near future, we
will open a backer-only store with some great exclusive items that
won’t be available to the general public.

So, now we get started on the game! We are in full production mode
for the next 18 months. Expect to see many updates as we start to
shape the experience that you’ve helped create. If you want to stay
in the loop in between our updates, head to our blog and forums at
http://wasteland.inxile-entertainment.com/
. We will be spending a lot of time interacting with all of you
there.

Thank you so much for your support and we look forward to your
continued involvement as we develop Wasteland 2 together!

it's a good thing I check my junk email folder, because that's where it went to when I received it.  it's going to be a long wait until Fall 2013.

Wasteland 1 included!  sweet!  I was hoping GOG would get it at some point, now I can happily wait until W2 hits.

it's looks good! Honestly though, the graphics are backseat to gameplay/story for me. I much more interested in how it plays

Brian Fargo just released a 1-minute sample of the Los Angeles music from the game, made by Mark Morgan. I can't wait to hear the rest. smile

Apparently, us backers get a free present from the Wasteland 2 dev team...

Bard's Tale (which includes the original 3) on Steam.

Woohoo!

The first actual gameplay video has been posted, and it's awesome! It's long too, clocking in at 17:24 and showing off several different elements of the game. Just remember that these guys are only halfway through development yet, so it's not going to look or sound quite as good as the final product. This isn't the typical E3 presentation we've been taught to expect throughout the years. It's more personal and honest.

I only watched the first 10 minutes but it looks pretty damned good. I thought the Double Fine project was more of a sure thing than this game but right now it looks like the other way around. Good for them.

Looking very good, I love the UI customization, such a simple thing but can make a big difference.  I would have loved to see the inventory/equip screens.

Looks good, although I see a lot of old and outdated UI design methodology.

They need to optimize the UI so that you don't have to constantly click back and forth to select the correct party member and tell what odds they have to succeed, or even if they could at all. They need to put in optional things where if a door is locked and the entire team is selected, it automatically has the highest skilled person go up and unlock the door, or pop up a mini menu that has a quick breakdown of who in your party can do what, with what odds of success.
