RPGamer has some new screenshots for tri-Ace's (Star Ocean, Valkyrie Profile) XBox360 action-RPG Infinite Undiscovery here.  They also have news that Square Enix will be publishing the game rather than Microsoft.  I wonder if this was just a business deal or if MS is skittish about publishing RPGs after Blue Dragon.

Is Tri-Ace not owned outright by SE?

I do think that the lack of any mention of a Blue Dragon follow-up by Sakaguchi isn't a positive sign.

Infinite Undiscovery may have the stupidest name since Divine Divinity but I generally like Tri-Ace's games so I'm on board.

I typically dislike Tri-Ace games, and that ridiculous name isn't doing this one any favors.

Graphics are nice, though.

Infinite Undiscovery had previously been announced as an Action RPG from tri-Ace, with the publisher announced as Microsoft Game Studios. Square Enix has now taken over those duties, as well as taking of the production of the game. The game's main theme is "Situation Battle," where the game's situations will be continually evolving. The game will be completely real-time, with nearly seamless transitions between gameplay, battles, and cutscenes. The game will not even pause the action when players access in-game menus. Though it is currently unavailable, the official site will be found here.

Those screenshots look awesome!

The name isn't going to help sales one iota though  retard They should have just called it Infinite Discovery, would be a nice counter to Final Fantasy.

According to MobyGames, they're financed by SquareEnix (and Enix before that), but I don't think SE owns them.

As for the name, I wouldn't be surprised if it was changed for the US release.

According to RPGamer, the game has been confirmed for US release.  Not that there was really any doubt, but it's glad to see Square Enix come out and say so, rather than keeping us waiting.

The trailer is up at Gametrailers.  Most of it is CG, but the actual game footage looks great, with a ton of action going on.

IGN has a preview and a bunch of new screenshots here.  The battles look like there's a ton of stuff going on.  In one, a character is carrying another (presumably wounded) character through the battle, while another shows the party running from a flood coming at them.  They also mention that discoveries will play a big part in the game -
Quote
we were told that they would have an impact on other things in the game and can carry a ripple effect out that changes the course of the game. An example we were given was the discovery of a dragon. What you choose to do, be it fight, run or hide, will have an impact on the rest of the game. Run away and the dragon might permanently damage a wall which can, in turn, lead to something else happening down the road.

I might be prematurely burnt out on 360 JRPGs. I loved Blue Dragon but Eternal Sonata and Lost Odyssey killed it for me. I can't find it in my soul to become excited for this game as much as I want to.

It looks really nice but I have to admit I was hoping for more from Tri-Ace working on next-gen hardware.

I'm glad to finally see some new screenshots.  Several high-profile RPGs have apparently gone into hiberation, with no info for many months, like The Last Remnant and White Knight.  I wonder how far along tri-Ace is on IU, considering they also have Valkyrie Profile : The Accused One and Star Ocean 4 in the works.

Official XBox Magazine has a preview this month.  According to this article, the magazine gives a summer release date, but I'm not sure whether that means in Japan, the US, or both.  Also, the blurb about the article states "Official Xbox Magazine's May issue has an exclusive preview of the game, which they call Infinite Possibilities".  Again, I'm not sure if that's the name of the game for the US, or simply the title of the article.  Anyone here get OXM?

I think this is the third time I've come into this thread expecting to read about a new sequel to the Weird Worlds/Strange Adventures series.  What an odd title.
