Ziff Davis shutting down 1Up, UGO and Gamespy

from the front page.  wow, 1Up has seemed to be slowing down but they've always had interesting stuff.  Won't miss Gamespy.  Not sure if there is anything on UGO that I cared about either.

The EIC of 1-up is a former buddy from HS.  He was always obsessed with Megaman and was our resident artist, even designing our senior T-shirt.

Eh, honestly, this has been coming. I know Ziff had multiple sites that all did the same thing for a while now and was wondering why they were all still open separately.

I used to really enjoy gamespy, but IMO they lost their edge some years ago. I'll never forget their Gary Gyrax interview though, which was damn good. I never was a fan of UGO or 1Up, so I won't miss them.

Used to listen to 1 up yours but that was a LOOOOOONG time ago.

I actually still listen to all the podcasters from those sites, on all the places they have ended up. So I'm really not missing anything.
