How long do you think it will be before we see MAME for the PSP? I hope it's not far off...

I've been hoping for Scumm for the DS, but it could easily be done on PSP. I know that Ultima 7 is on the XBox, so the sky really the limit.

You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

Guys, this isn't quite what you are thinking. Basically, he has a DNS server set up so that it resolves the IP web site Wipeout goes to to a web page of links that he has. So, you are only going to be able to do it where you have control over a DNS server (in other words, not at your local Starbucks or anything). It's cool and all, but not quite what I think a lot of you were hoping for.

Hardly Yeah, we've been online for years with portable gaming devices. I remember reading GoneGold on my old Mattel handheld football game. All the text was in red and looked like a digital clock, but at least I could get my email. In fact, last season, I was pirating NFL Sunday ticket on my Gameboy Color.

Just tested it myself and it works - Here's ConsoleGold in the PSP web browser. Apparently no CSS support so you get the scaled down mainly-text version of CG. Still - Super-cool!!

Very nice.
I will mention that Sony is purportedly working on a "real" web browser for the PSP that, well, won't require a hack work-around to use.
But for now, this is still very, very sweet.

Update: Here's a much easier way to get the web browser to work if you aren't a DNS expert...
Set up a wireless Infrastructure connection as you normally would on a PSP. However, in "address settings" select "custom" and then "Manual."
You'll then be prompted for your IP informations and such. Use the following:
ID: Your PSP's IP address. Probably 192.168.1.XXX or whatever. SUBNET: 255.255.255.0 as usual. DEFAULT ROUTER: Your Router's IP address. Mine was 192.168.1.1. PRIMARY DNS: Here's the magic number: 67.171.70.72. SECONDARY DNS: Doesn't matter. Use the same as above or your Router's IP if you like.
Select Do Not Use under Proxy Server and confirm and test the settings. Everything oughta work.
Next, put in that copy of Wipeout Pure and go to "Downloads." Select this new profile and you are golden.

Actually, you shouldn't have to do all that Dimmona. I spent a bunch of time on this over the weekend and put together a public portal and instructions. My connection settings are there as well. They only thing you have to change is the DNS and you should be good to go! Still working on the portal, but here's what it looks like. You can search google directly, go to any URL, search for games (and see their box art, reviews, release date, etc in a PSP friendly format) or hop directly to the wireless version of CNN, Penny Arcade, etc.
