If someone were to ask me right now, PS3 or 360, I would say PS3 . It's been 4 months since my RROD and I still don't have my XBLA purchases issue sorted out. The great Customer Service Call Center firewall protects the almighty Microsoft from having to address any need or concern you may have, though the last brick in the firewall I talked to actually gave me a physical snail mail address.

Soooooo, I'm not quite understanding where you're coming from.
You're on your 2nd (at least) Xbox 360, still don't have the XBLA games you've purchased in the past, have spent numerous hours on the phone with their CSR's and still nothing.
And yet you still "say 360?"
A) Is that a typo? B) Are you a masochist? C) Do you own a PS3?

Yeah, not sure I'm following. "My 360 got the inevitable RRoD and Microsoft customer support has been a pain in the ass, so there's no way I'd get a PS3." What exactly was the turning point to get you to turn back onto the point you were already on?

WOW. Seriously, that argument may have worked until a few months ago. Update your list of slams for the PS3, because this one is no longer valid.

I still think the 360 has tons more exclusives worth playing. And this is coming from someone who currently has a 360 in for repair and all the time in the world to use the PS3. I've already played Uncharted, Ratchet, and Resistance. What else is left?

Even if you're die-hard 360 fanboy you should still buy a PS3. With the free Sony Defense Force membership that comes with every system, you'll be converted as soon as you crack open the box. For evidence please see Exhibit A: wonderpug, who has yet to purchase a game for his PS3, jumps to Sony's defense not 10 minutes after TML does.
If a 3rd party released a 360 controller (with a functional d-pad) that was PS3 compatible my journey toward the SDF side would be complete. I just can't stand the triggers on the sixaxis.

yay,i love this subject.....
PS3 has certainly grown over the last few months...but the games that have come out for it,aren't day one must buys for me..not compared to games on the 360 ..lost odyssey,Fable 2,too human(actually i am still in two minds over too human)
and their pretty boring XMB,friends list etc is ...er,pretty boring
BUT...of course we have the next few months for things to change,HOME,new store outlook(it damn needs it),MGS4,LBP(<<which i couldnt give a frogs ass about)...and final fantasy 13 in 2009(or 2010) and this falls update for GTP(damage)..thats about all i can think off...anything else?

With regards to upcoming exclusives, there really isn't anything that exciting about Xbox 360, PS3 seems to have more interesting stuff. However, I'd hate to miss out on a bunch of 360 exclusives that are already released. Also if you like to play multiplayer with people on these forums, then the choice is obviously 360. I have both consoles but that last point is the main reason I always by the 360 version.

This statement should read that the 360 has more games. The PS3 certainly has some good exclusives...just not near as many as the 360.

Definitely, I'm not saying the list of PS3 games rival the list of great 360 games, but to say the PS3 has no games is such a ridiculously ignorant statement at this point. What else is left?
Well, I'm not one to say which games are OMG PLAY-WORTHY, but with Unreal Tournament III, Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds, Warhawk, Eye of Judgment, and MLB 08: The Show, my plate is full of glorious gaming.

Ah, I see...one of these perception is reality things. Yes, there are no good RPGs on the PS3, but that only means no games for you. For the rest of the free world, there are games.

Though, the 360 isn't exactly a powerhouse in the RPG department either. And with the PS2 library of RPGs, if you're counting backwards compatibility the PS3 / PS2 combo blows the 360 / Xbox combo out of the water...

You're including the PS2's huge library of last gen RPGs against current RPGs. I grant that it's a valid point, but it's not for everyone (looking at the 40gb PS3s, and the numerous limitations of the 80gb ones). If you have a 60 gig, its a given.

Kevin I think you just convinced me to go for the PS3 version of GTA IV.
I've had a pre-order in on the triggers for months so hopefully I'll be able to offer up impressions before GTA comes out. I'm pretty controller agnostic but I really dislike the new PS3 triggers so hopefully this will fix things.

I was in love with my PS3 the first few months after I bought it but eventually drifted back towards buying all my multiplatform games on the 360. Aside from the black cloud that is the RROD which hangs over the 360's head, the system quite frankly has all the advantages over the PS3 that it needs to make it my main console. Blu-ray aside, I literally bought the PS3 for Uncharted, MGS4, and FF13, with desperate hopes for a new Twisted Metal game. Also, even to this day the vast majority of multiplatform titles run smoother on the 360 (R6: Vegas 2 and Condemned 2 being the latest examples).

Yea just load in the PS2 disk...oh wait allot of PS3 gamers can't do that because Sony ripped that part of the systems they have been selling now even though they made fun of MS's BC for the longest time. But hey at least they made up for it by putting rumble back in the controller even though they said it wasn't possible before or even needed anymore because they had moved on and it was all about Sixxaxis now, and it will only cost you $55 to get it. Isn't Sony awsome...

Man, I hear you. I've only had my PS3 a few days and already can't stand the controller. My hands aren't abnormally large, but they sure get scrunched up trying to hold the 6A. Holding the trigger down for any length of time (Motorstorm) gets uncomfortable quickly. I'm thinking about getting one of these- http://www.amazon.com/Playstation-3-Zero-Wireless-Controller/dp/B000LD3S5K. Ale

Bah, the generation has barely just begun. In a few years the PS3's launch year will be a distant memory.
