my wife bought me some MS points for my 360 and I want to get a good fun game with them. i don't have the money to just test stuff and waste them. I like about anything other than puzzles, racing, or fighting. I love rpg, strategy, sims, flight, adventure..lots of stuff. Is there someone where I can view the top ones or see whats new?
Post away please!

'splosion man trials hd shadow complex - this is worthy of a blind purchase if you ask me and if you like the castlevania games.
both of the puzzle quest games are great fun if you haven't tried them yet.

Lara Croft Guardian of Light - out of the 15 XBLA games I own, it's the best by quite a margin.

Correction: there is a demo for every game on XBLA. Every single one. It's a requirement from Microsoft, so there is no excuse for blind buying. (I feel like a broken record here...)

I assume you mean Geometry Wars 2, which made fantastic improvements to the original and further extended replay value and challenges. I think I play the Pacifism mode the most as I find it ridiculously addicting. I'd put in a vote for Limbo as well. While short, it was an amazing ride and in my opinion one of the most creative and worthwhile experiences I've had with XBLA. shadow complex - this is worthy of a blind purchase if you ask me and if you like the castlevania games.
I've been meaning to actually pony-up the points and give this game a real try. I started playing through the demo and at first wasn't quite sure what I thought about the game, but before long I had played for over an hour and didn't want to stop. I should just pick it up as it seemed to be more than worth the price.

Strategy: Catan (based on the board game) - it's still got a very active online community, great fun. I still play it after ~ 3 years Magic the Gathering - Also a very strong online community; A very neutered version of the card game but a very good introduction if you've never played Magic. The expansions are worth it if you like the game. Plants vs Zombies - very true to the PC version; I was not a fan of the multiplayer though Action: Geometry Wars 2 - Great single player, Great multi-player (up to four) and an absolute blast to play Castle Crashers - Good single player but way more fun with four players -- and a lot of fun through multiple playthroughs What I often do is wait for xbox live arcade games to hit the deal of the week, and then pick them up.

Hmm I always hear good things on Plants vs Zombies. I did play the demo to that Lara Croft game. Seemed pretty cool but the AI tribesman didn't travel around with me and help at all. Just gave me his magic spear. Does he actually help in the full game because from what I read about it he would seem to have to. Is it tough to find someone to co-op with?
Oh also tried the Deathspank demo..was ok..has promise...just not sure.

The spear gives Lara some of the other guy's abilities so that you can play the game alone and still complete the co-op puzzles.

+1. This was a fantastic game. Word of caution: Be sure to give the demo of Deathspank a try before buying. I'm a huge hack-n-slash fan, but that game did absolutely nothing for me.

Shadow Complex is a lot of fun - highly recommended. +1 After Lara Croft GoL it' be my #2 for XBLA games. A very good list for about 90% of it, but I have a problem with Pacman Champ Edition being ranked #2. It definitely deserves to be in the top 25, but I wouldn't rank it in the top 10 let alone #2. Also, a few multiplat games that our much better on the PC made that list, while some great console remakes didn't make it at all, while the one that did -Perfect Dark- got ranked too low.

i think they got most of the list right. i would order some of them differently and yes, pacman ce isn't as where i would rank it. i don't really have any reservations saying this list is a good place to start too.
