What would really bother me about that one is that the paint job only really works when the console is vertical.  I keep mine flat, so I'd just have a sideways 2 on mine.  It is a good deal if you don't have a 360 though.

It's $400. It wouldn't be a good deal for me even if I didn't have a 360, as I have no need for a 2nd controller, and I have zero interest in MW2.

I have a 120GB drive now, 3 or 4 games installed, lots of XBLA games, and a huge amount of Rock Band DLC, and I still have 78GB free.

$400 is a good price for that bundle, nothing wrong with it and it's a good way to get into any console.  Basically $300 for the system, $50 for an extra controller, and $50 for the game.  Of course, tack on $35-$50 to play online and another $100 if you want to go wireless.  slywink

Hell, I am tempted to go from my (now three year old) 20 gig system.  2 more controllers would put me at 4 and I would be back under warranty.

How is MSFT about transferring the DRM stuff and getting you a cable to transfer your hdd data if you upgrade to a new system?

They have a pretty good license transfer tool on xbox.com.  Basically you log in to your account, select everything you want to transfer, and you can then download everything again that you owned and it will be linked to the new system.

Er, at least that's how I think it works.  I know I was able to do something similar when I moved my hard drive over, not sure if it will allow a full re-download.

It was free with the purchase of an Elite in the past, assuming the same can still be done. And then there's always this:

Yes that's how it works.  The problem is you can only do it once a year.  I had my original 360 replaced by MS and then a few weeks later bought a new 360.  I now have to wait before I can transfer all of my licences to the new one.

Pretty slick!  I so can't wait until the game is finally released.  I haven't anticipated a game this much since Half Life 2.
