How many PC games do you have installed on your PC at any one time? I keep a few gems on my system at all times, but here is what I currently have installed:
1.) Starcraft and expansion 2.) Battlefield 2 3.) ER 4.) Thief 1, 2, 3 5.) Guild Wars (being uninstalled) 6.) World of Warcraft (being uninstaled) 7.) Vampire: The Masquerade (being uninstalled)
(wanna guess who is prepping for a format?)

I finally got a new hard drive to boost my meager 40G to 120 so I can now actually fit more than 3 or 4 games. Currently: RTW DoW Dungeon Lords Chronicles of Riddick HL2 SW:Republic Commando Farcry Armed and Dangerous NWN Platinum UT2K4 GTA:VC BFME Max Payne 1@2 I'm actually playing all of these though time is devoted to some more than others. I still have more to install. Its nice to have large selection ready to play for whatever you feel like.

Having a bigger hard drive is kind of like moving to a bigger apartment. You don't actually have more room, you just collect more crap. My currently installed games:
Anarchy Online Arcanum City of Heroes Divine Divinity Evil Genius Fallout 2 Ghost Recon Hearts of Iron Hearts of Iron 2 Morrowind NASCAR 2002 Neverwinter Nights Railroad Tycoon 3 RavenShield Republic Riddick EFBB Sid Meier's Pirates! Silent Storm Splinter Cell 3 Demo SWAT 4 Single Player Demo The Sims 2 (plus University) Thief 2 Torment Tropico 2 UT 2004 Victoria
I keep meaning to uninstall the ones I'm not playing (you know, like 80% of them) but I never get around to it. A perfect example is Republic. I installed that February 2004, played for about an hour, got bored, have never touched it since. I think it's safe to assume that I'm not going to get back to it, so I should take the thirty seconds to uninstall.

About 110 total. If you count just games made in the last few years, about 70. I have 160 GB total, almost full, and all but whatever Windows takes up and 16 GB of music is devoted to games. Needless to say, I jump around between different games a lot

Trying to think about this off the top of my head:
UT2K4 + God knows how many GB worth of map packs and add-ons Curse of Monkey Island Escape from Monkey Island Grim Fandango (note the theme) Star Wars: Rebellion Far Cry Siberia Max Payne 1 & 2 Call of Duty + Expansion
I've a few more installed but I'm drawing a blank on them.
EDIT: Now that I'm home let me add the following:
Dungeon Keeper 2 Evil Genius Half-Life 2 Hitman 2 Independence War 2 Jedi Academy Mafia Planescape: Torment Sacrifice Maniac Mansion (redux)

Geez KD... based on those poll choices, you're selling us short I'd assume most serious PC gamers have lots of games installed at any one time. I know there was a similar thread on GG way back when, and many people had dozens of games installed. At one point I had over 100 (a lot of older, smaller games), but since I rebuilt my PC, it's closer to 20 now. But I've got a whole 250GB dedicated for games (and emulators and patches), so I can definitely install many more before feeling pinched.

my list is currently sitting at 30 (not counting expansions) and takes up 70.8GB... Call of Duty Deus Ex: Invisible War Divine Divinity Doom 3 Doom 3 - Resurrection of Evil Grand Theft Auto III GTA: Vice City GTA: San Andreas Guild Wars Half-Life 2 Halo Knights of the Old Republic KotoR II: The Sith Lords Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed Neverwinter Nights (with both expansions) Planescape: Torment Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Prince of Persia: Warrior Within Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield Silent Hunter III Splinter Cell SC: Pandora Tomorrow SC: Chaos Theory Morrowind (with Tribunal and Bloodmoon) The Simpsons: Hit & Run Tony Hawk's Underground 2 Unreal Tournament Unreal Tournament 2004 Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines Warcraft IIIthanks to a 160GB HD, i've not bothered with uninstalling any games since i built my new system in december 2004. KOTOR was the first game played on my new rig, so it's been there the longest...GTA:San Andreas is my most recent addition at about 3 weeks old

Since I added a new drive in February I have more space than ever. But I've been mostly out of PC gaming for the last few years, so I have fewer games than ever:
Baldur's Gate Civ III Slime Forest Might & Magic VI Ultima VII Ultima IX Divine Divinity

Battlefield 2 and a Beta MMO I can't mention.(NDA)
Soon to add Dungeon Siege 2
I try various demos as they come out, but then uninstall them after playing them once through.

I have exactly one game installed, as I just reformatted my main gaming PC, and got my laptop back from the shop after a lengthy 'get the damn thing fixed' issue with Gateway.
Unless you call the ton of music I have on my laptop games.

Anyone with less than 10 is an amateur. Absolutely! I'm too lazy to list eveything on my machine, but at any given time there are probably 18-24 games on my HD (plus several demos). I tend to leave things there until I trade, sell, or give them away. I defrag regularly (Diskeeper), and I do sometimes uninstall some dead-wood. But otherwise, I let'm ride.

I dont keep games on my HD very long. Im a minimalist, so the more free HD space the better, and the fewer applications installed the better.
More Apps = larger Windows Registry = more memory used to store the Registry = slower bootup and performance.
Plus I need more room for my growing pr0n collection.

Doom 3 World of Warcraft Anarchy Online (free subscription) EQ2 (cancelled, so I'll uninstall soon) Fallout Tactics Rainbow 6 three with athena sword Age of Mythology (installed, but never played) UT2004 Morrowind + expansions Freedom Force Call of Duty GTA: Vice City Splinter Cell Diablo2+LOD Max Payne 2 Star wars battlefront Sims 2 (belongs to my wife...seriously, it's not mine)
I had more, but I reinstalled my os. This also doesn't include any demo I installed, like BF2, and others.
I also have a HUGH backlog of games I bought. Hugh...obscene. A few months back, EB threw a sale where used pc games was costing like pennies.

Silent Hunter 3 and Pro Evolution 4. PE4 I just installed today so before that I only had one This is a new computer though so that's partly the reason. But at the same time I try to keep the fewest number of games on my comp as possible. Don't you find that the more games you have the less time you actually spend playing them? It takes so much effort to have so much choice so in the end you end up playng nothing and watching a movie instead.
