Rocky Legends (April 2005) NOT PLAYED YET
Jade Empire (April 2005) COMPLETE
Pirates (August 2005) NOT PLAYED YET
SSX 3 (October 2005) IN TRANSIT

Bold = actual 2005 releases..I think..

I can't even begin to list them all.

How about the last month?

Trace Memory (DS)
SSX On Tour (PS2)
We Love Katamari (PS2)
Painkiller Black (PC)
Children of the Nile (PC)
X-Men Legends (GC)
Lord of the Rings: The Third Age (GC)

Those were all bought new.  If you add buying used games, trades, etc then you need to add several more in the past month.

Lord of the Rings: The Third Age (GC)

I've seen this game ridiculously cheap used for all three platforms - is it worth picking up?

I just started it and have played for about an hour.  So far so good.  It's got a Final Fantasy X vibe to it.  I picked it up for $20.

I love The Third Age.  It has amazing atmosphere, although there's not much of a story and almost all of your time is spent in the excellent turn-based combat.  I paid full price for it, and I'd do it again, but it's probably not for everyone.

It's sad but true, and not looking to change much by the end of the year: Dragon Quest VIII will be added to the list of acquisitions, and the completion list will remain at zero.  That's what I get for going back to school.

Here's what I can remember off the top of my head, but I'm sure there are more:

PS2:
-  Digital Devil Saga
-  Onimusha3
-  God of War
-  Tenchu 3
-  Katamari Damacy (again)
-  Jak III
-  Stella Deus
-  Altilier Iris
-  Disgaea (again)
-  Shadow Hearts:  Covenant (again)
-  Dark Cloud 2 (again)
-  Drakengard
-  .hack - Vol 1
-  Tsunugai

X-Box:
-  Burnout 3:  Revenge
-  Psi-Ops
-  Burnout 3: Takedown (again)
-  Tenchu 3 (again)
-  Psychonauts
-  Lord of the Rings:  Third Age
-  Jade Empire
-  Phantom Dust
-  Wrath Unleashed
-  NCAA '06
-  Thief 3
-  Forza Motorsport
-  Fable (again)
-  Oddworld:  Strangers Wrath

DS/GBA
-  Castlevania DS
-  Meteos
-  Advance Wars DS
-  Fire Emblem
-  Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
-  Rebelstar Command
-  Zelda:  Minish Cap
-  Riviera

GC:
-  RE4
-  Baten Kaitos
-  Tales of Symphonia

PSP
-  Tony Hawk
-  Lumines
-  FIFA '06
-  Hot Shots Golf Fore
-  Wipeout Pure

PC
-  Sacred Gold
-  Black & White 2
-  Baldur's Gate 2 collection
-  Medival:  Total War
-  Age of Wonders 2 collection
-  Neverwinter Nights Platinum
-  Morrowind
-  Pirates!

And as of right now, the only games I still own are:
-  Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
-  Sacred Gold (which is up for trade)
-  Age of Wonders Collection
-  Baldur's Gate 2 collection

The PSP & GBA were sold, and all my games were either traded or sold.  Oddly enough, I'm perfectly OK with that and plan on buying very few games in the forseeable future.

Gamecube: Outlawgolf

PC: Pro evolution soccer 4, GTA San Andreas, Flatout, heroes 3 complete, heroes 4 and divine ancension(or something like that).

Hmm, not that bad considering that only GTA and flatout was full price.

No, just obsessive smile

I tend to buy just about all my games used, and resell them while they still have some market value, so I'm not out nearly as much cash as it would seem at first glance.

hey, if you try to finish every game you buy, which i try to do as well, & (according to your list, anyway) you only manage to finish 2 or 3 games a year, power to you - you're definitely gonna be saving some bucks...

Games I bought (or will buy) new this year -
Atelier Iris : Eternal Mana
Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2
Radiata Stories
Suikoden 4
Riviera
Sigma Star Saga
Jade Empire
Dungeon Siege 2
Magna Carta
Dragon Quest 8
Wild ARMs Alter Code F

I probably bought another 50 or so, but they were used and most cost between $1 and $10.

Those don't count?  I rarely buy games new, and will usually wait months until I can find a used copy on the cheap before I'll give them a try.  Since games are so hit and miss with me (lately it's usually 'miss' frown ), it's very seldom that I will pay full price for one.

As far as being rich and/or frugal...not really.  It's very, very seldom that a game grabs me enough to actually play it all the way through.  In fact, I'd bet that half of the games I purchased this year were returned for credit within 30-60 days.  There's many more I didn't list that I returned within Gamestop's 7-day exchange (thank goodness for that policy!).  I play games until I get bored with them, and have no qualms about trading them in unfinished.

Couple I forgot:

XBox: Jade Empire

DS: Kirby's Paintbrush (just got today for the wife, after months of looking)

Yoshi Touch and Go. Also got for the wife. Haven't brought myself a DS game yet, but Castlevania is very tempting.

I bought a ton of games this year.  Most of them were $10-20.  I'm fickle so I'd rather bring home 4 or 5 for my $100 than 2.  The upside is that the games have been disected and reviewed all over the place so it's easy to pick up some gems.  It really has to be something special for me to blow $50 for a day 1 release.

I got 5 of the latest round of PS2 Greatest Hits for around $75 when they came down a few months ago.  Cheap ass nirvana!
