Homeworld being one of my favorite games of all time, I hit up all my contacts once I saw that news hit the radar.  Sadly, my info points to no H3 in development right now.  Here's hoping I'm wrong.  Makes me want to replay the original again.  The visuals still hold up well.

Actually, it sounds like they're keeping it under wraps.  I'm damn sure they are at least working on preproduction, ironing out the story and what they want to do with the game.

I would love it if they do to Homeworld what they're doing to Dawn of War 2 right now.  Make it so there's a galaxy map with points of interest that you can jump to, however to stop the problem that previous homeworld games had with fleet carry over and scaling, they should make fleet production part of the galaxy strategic control.  This way, each battle would be much more tactical, although there could be some amount of mid-mission reinforcements.  Then ship research and enhancements could have a bit more meaning.

Completely agree!

Relic could do some absolute fantastic things with Homeworld 3 if they spend some serious quality time in production.  With today's technology, along with what they have learned since making the first Homeworld, it could be Off-the-Charts Excellent.

I'm just imagining Homeworld 3 with Battlestar Galactica quality space battles, but much more colorful.  Love to see anti-fighter barrage fire in the Homeworld engine.

I could never get into Homworld but wasn’t the goal to… um…. find their Homeworld?  Is the race just so bad at reading a map that it takes three tries?  icon_smile

Homeworld 1 was finding and getting their homeworld back, Homeworld 2 was defending it from Taidaan remnants, aka the Vayger, while getting all pseudo religious.  I didn't like the BSG-like spiritual turn of the story in HW2.
