Starting up steam and I get the message,

"Unlocking Half life 2  files"......

It didn't do anything though. But still, I didn't realize how much I was looking forward to this game until my just now when my blood pressure went up like crazy.....

Yeah, that would probably freak me out as well. Too bad nothing came of it, but I bet it will be soon. Lots of signs lately of an imminent release.

/fingers crossed

I feel left out. I never saw that message.

I am still downloading some new stage of the preload though.

This should be the last preload. IIRC on HardOCP they were saying this last preload should be the last of the maps.

Tried to do preload #6 a couple times the past few days and it keeps ignoring me when I click on the continue button.

I left mine preloading today when I went to work. When I got home, i had a message saying HL2 was fully loaded "and on release day, you'll be able to play immediately". It pulled down some 4+ GB.

Though I'm sure there'll be a patch to match gold code.

I never got it to download #6, so I deleted #5 and it took right off and downloaded 5 & 6.

Weird....
