Me?

I liked it.

Oh I cursed Valve for leaving me hanging...I did want to save the world AND get the girl but alas....

Yeah it was cheesy in that it screamed HL3 but really it was pretty good-acually ended like it started---

It did seem a bit short though-I really would have liked a few more hours but all in all a pretty good ending to a fine game.

I loved it.  While the denouement itself was somewhat unfulfilling (though completely what I expected based on the first game) the final act of the game and the last levels in particular were fantastic and awe inspiring.  Unlike Halo 2, also heavily criticized for its ending, in HL2 I *knew* that the game was building toward the finale.

I also appreciated that the end "boss" was relatively easy.  When I'm at the end of the game I just want to beat it- not get frustrated so close to the end.

I'll say what I said at the end of the Matrix: Reloaded--

Either it's all going to tie up really well, or it's all going to tie up really poorly.

With Valve at the wheel, however, I think we'll see the former.

I'm with Ebonstone.  The ending is perfect......if Half Life 3 ties everything up.  If not, then it's crap.

An above average ending. I mean, being a pawn beats being blown up with everyone else.

Can't understand how people were "left hanging". Citadel goes nuclear, world-wide revolution kicked off in response, Earth will be free, all your friends are dead, and Freeman's a tool for powers that Valve has no intention of ever revealing (Arilou Lalee'lay smile ). I'd imagine that HL3 (if we live see it) will be as unrelated to HL2 as 2 was to 1. And that's fine by me. TV hasn't quite sucked out all of my own imagination.
