Straight from HL2Source Counter-Strike: Source Beta... Live! At 7:00 PM PST Counter-Strike Source Beta went live for CZ/ATI users. Although some users have already reported a handfull of problems, overall the whole event turned out fine! On a (rather large) side note, Half-Life 2 will start pre-loading 18th of August, so be sure to check Steam once in a while. And there you have it...

Played a whole lot of CS:S last night. What great fun. The new graphics and physics add soo much to the game. It basically plays exactly the same, but is made a lot more fun because of the physics.
An example of something that happened to me last night.
I was a T and was pinned down in the tunnel in Dust with only a Desert Eagle. There was an M4 really near my position, horizontal to where I was but I was being shot at enough already and making a run for the gun would have been suicide. In the meantime, one of my teammates had made his way up behind, he attempted to throw a grenade at the CT's who were keeping me pinned down, but made a really bad throw and it landed near me, but right on top of the M4 to be exact. Boom, M4 flies right past me. Sweet! So, I grabbed it and ended up taking out 1 of the 3 CT's, my partner who assisted in my acquiring a better gun took out one and I was AWP'd by a CT up on the balcony.
Just a very simple example of how sweet the physics are. I can't wait for HL2, full version of CS:S, and Day of Defeat Source. What a beautifully well made engine.

Played a lot more last night and it's really great.
Nothing like throwing a grenade at a T hiding behind 3 barrels, and seeing the T and the barrels fly in all directions. The physics rock more than the graphics.

I believe you can only download it from Steam ( link) if you have CS: Condition Zero or the ATI/HL2 bundle that came with ATI cards last year. Other than that you're out of luck until they announce something more open or HL2 releases with Half-Life: Source and Counter-Strike: Source included.

I got the shaft. My box was supposed to have the HL2 voucher in it and didn't. I called ATI and they said "Sorry!" but they weren't sending me anything. Commies....

I'm with Eco so far. This new engine could be what draws me back into playing CS all the time. Honestly, I'd almost given up on it completely to the point that I only played it once every few months. I actually bought CZ back when it came out in the hopes that it might revitalize the game a bit, but no luck there. Now however, I'm actually glad I bought CZ because I get to play with the source engine early

Wait... The old Counter-Strike works with the new Half-Life? Yes. Half Life 2 will ship with these things: 1. Half-Life 2 2. Half-Life Source (original Half-Life with the new graphics/physics engine) 3. Counter-Strike Source (same as Half-Life Source) I believe #3 is the only multiplayer part of the package, which is the reason they are including it.

Actuall, commies would make sure EVERYONE got the exact same copy as you; and therefore stripping it of any indivuality or personal worth.
