I was going to use my $20 BestBuy certificate this week for Rome: Total War but since funds are low I think I'll wait a month and pick up Half Life 2 when that comes out.

Oh gosh buy them both if you possibly can.  I can't wait for HL2 but Rome Total War is by *far* my game of the year so far.

Anyone else find it annoying that the warez kiddies are going to be playing this game before those of us who have bought through Steam, paid, and had the full game sitting on our drives for over a month?

As much as I'll dislike having to wait a month to play a game I effectively already have, I really should be focusing on the stuff that I already have.  

Oh yeah, and isn't there some other FPS coming out for the Xbox the week before?  I can never remember what that one's called.  Circle 2 or something...

And from what I've heard, Valve is going to aggressively pursue warez versions. I've already heard that they've been logging IP's for those using the cracked version of CS: Source and are going to be laying down RIAA style lawsuits.
