Woohoo!  I just made it to rank 15, which is a best for me. I played primarily Warlock and Palidin (even though Paly is supposablly weak).  Not that 15 is great in the scheme of things, but it is the highest I've made it thus far.

Really, anyone wanting to play this on ios, just do the region switch and call it a day smile

Also at Pax it was announced that the full iPad release would be in 1-2 weeks if you want to wait and not do the region swap thing.

No interest in doing the region switch thing. Plus I am worried about the iPad release, it will make it too easy to play.

I can't make it above rank 19 playing with my mage. That seems to be my limit.

How does the game pick opponents for non ranked games? I used to be able to win regularly in play mode with most characters, but lately the competition has gotten a lot better. Not sure if it's because of my combined level of characters or just that everyone else is getting better at the game.

I always assumed it was random in non-ranked matches, not sure at all though.  I

The kinda consensus in the community is that Blizzard uses their secret hidden skill rating as part of their non-ranked matchmaking.  Don't know if there's ever been an official word one way or the other, though.

I literally can't win anymore. As I have stated many, many, times in this thread, I suck at this game, but I could always do unranked games and have fun, winning some and losing some. Now, with any deck but my mage, I am getting slaughtered. I see legendaries being played just about every game, which seems new in unranked play. I do better in ranked play than non, now.

Sidenote: Murloc warlock decks, is anyone not playing them anymore?

There's no chat to be able to. All you can do is emote "well played"

That's what I mean. It used to be common back in the day (a month ago) for everyone to say well played at the end of the game. Now it seems rare. I used to greet everyone as well before I realized I was the only one doing it.

I am old, and rarely play online games, and this is kind of why. The person across from me might as well be a computer if there in no interaction. On the other end of things, if there was free chat, I would have to turn it off because everyone is an ass online.

Nevermind me. icon_confused

I hear what you're saying, but I am glad there's no chat in this game.  Blizzard clientele are notorious grade AAA Internet Dickwads.  Chat would ruin this game.  As it is, I squelch every opponent I play.  I don't want to hear anything, be it greetings or taunts.

I finally got to level 18.

I really don't like when people start games and go AFK and then they have the first turn and just have to sit there.

I bookend all my matches with "greetings" and "well played", and almost every time the gesture is reciprocated.

I always greet etc as well and find most do the same.  Lately people are even beating me to it.

I'll never play a Murloc deck as they seem so cheesy and not fun.  I've had a lot more luck against them lately.  I'm still  playing warlock and druid primarily.  Adventure mode sounds cool too smile

I installed this during the weekend while waiting for my D3 people to show up and am addicted to it.  I don't really know what I am doing deck wise but found a guide for a starter Mage deck and am actually winning some games.  I am afraid to alter it with new cards though as it appears to work sometimes.

It's a lot of fun (imo) to play with your deck and try new things.  You can create multiple decks, too!

Of course their search is so broken that you can't find it by searching. Had to find it through a Twitter link.

You can also type "Blizzard", find one of their other apps, then click on the company name to see a listing of their other products which will include Hearthstone.

Blizzard responded to people with the same problem on Twitter, it takes awhile for the app store search to update its results. So it's fine now.

Thanks to the retina display, Hearthstone looks better on the iPad than it does my computers. Runs great as well. A couple of slow downs, but I probably need to shut down some apps anyway. You get a free pack for playing a game on the iPad as well.

Agree, it looks better and plays every bit as good on ipad.  I bet if you restart your ipad you'll have little to no slow-down.

It's nice listed in the front page of the AppStore as an Editors Choice.

I can't imagine the number of people playing this game now.

It's already the 64th highest grossing app, those newbies are buying the packs up. I doubt it will beat Clash of Clans and the like though, people spend thousands on those. Hearthstone will have a bigger base I am sure though.

I wonder if there's a chance they'd add asynchronous play.  It'd be nice to be able to have a number of matches with forumers ongoing even if we never log on at the same time.

I just grabbed this on the iPad and played the first four tutorial(?) missions, up to King Mukla. I've done no real research on the game, but I definitely enjoyed what I've played so far.

Is there a true single player component, or is it simply a few tutorial games until it releases you in a multiplayer-only arena? I read that there is an actual campaign/storyline being released soon, but I'm curious as to how the robust the single player portion is now.

Stupid game is mocking me. Mage arena deck, one Frostbolt, one Flamestrike, the rest mostly minions. No sheep or fireballs, but I do have the legendary that gives you a dream card every turn. The deck sucks, but I am 2-0 with it so far. Considering by best arena deck ever is 5 wins, I am doing pretty good (knock on wood). But playing a Mage deck that might as well be a neutral deck with the lack of Mage cards, is really showing that I have no clue what I am doing. Or maybe it means I am finally getting better that I can win a crappy deck?

And the iPad app is stupid too. I have homework to do, but been playing all morning.  icon_razz

Edit: finished at 5. Had a unrecoverable bad start with one, other 2 were just much better than I.
