Circuit City has this one on sale this week and I picked it up. 9.99.

I really loevd the first one and, rightfully, played it on PC. I've been a console gamer exclusively since 2002 and haven't updated my gaming rig since nov 2001, hence i never played HL2 on the pc.

Does the game work well on the brick or is it a toothless port?  Most of the reviews are solid, but Gamespot says that the frame rate is B-A-D bad.

Thoughts?

...sadly there was no review on GT...

I just picked this up recently when it went on sale too.
I thought the graphics were a little weak, and yeah the frame rate could be a bit better.

It's not a bad game though (keep in mind, I've never played the PC version). It's weird, although I wasn't having a total blast or anything, I still couldn't stop playing. Heheh, I'm not totally sure why that is. Maybe because it's not done as Level 1, Level 2, etc, or maybe it's the story. The game is getting better now that I have the gravity gun.

Overall, so far it's a pretty solid game. No multiplayer offline or online though.

If you haven't already played it on the PC, absolutely.  I finished the Xbox version, and didn't notice many framerate issues.

I played through it on PC and then rented the Xbox version. I think I enjoyed the Xbox version more. Mainly due to the fact there was no sound stuttering. Yeah the graphics don't look as good on the Xbox but it's still a good game and the framerate isn't too bad either.

How is it on the 360, BC-wise?  I might be tempted to play through again for $10.
