Played the HL2 demo and really enjoyed it!  I noticed I couldn't save when I wanted in the demo and the save points were spread out prettyyyyyyyyyyyy far.

Is this indicative of the real game?

The game does have save points from what I recall, but you can still do quicksaves whenever you want.

They have quick saves, auto saves, and manual saves.

The auto saves are actually lighting fast in this game, and have only gotten faster with later patches.  Sometimes you don't even realize it autosaves.

In the full game, I never had to replay a large stretch of game due to bad checkpoints.

This is the Xbox version that's getting patched or the PC version?
