Interesting stuff.  If you look at the graph for today you'll notice a steady ramping up of used bandwith while available bandwith remains constant.  Maybe they will get hammered when the game is released?

Chances are I'll go to play EQ2, get immersed, forget about the HL2 release, and only remember next afternoon that HL2 is unlocked and I can play it now.

my pre load is at almomst at 88%   yay for progress.  


i do find it a little odd that i told steam to concentrate on half life 2 and ignore cs source, yet it stopped at 83% and started up cs source.   the last 5% has all been due to cs grabbing the same files.  unusual system this steam is

I am not staying up for it. I would unlock it and want to play it, and seeing as I am only gong to get 5 hours of sleep if I hit the sack now (not going to happen), I am not sure this is the best idea

 I have to be up and start being a Dad at 8:15. Tomorrow morning I take Amelia to the much-dreaded Music Class.
 We're paying for childcare tomorrow afternoon ostensibly so I can get some work done between 2-6pm. If I'm exhausted from playing games all night, me no write so good.[/list]
Reasons I Really Should

 It's Half-life 2. That's really all I need to make a decision, but regardless, I'll continue.
 I want to experience Half-life 2 for the first time late at night with the lights off and the family in bed. That's not gonna happen for another 24 hours. AN ETERNITY.
 I have a large glass of freshly-brewed, sweetened, and chilled coconut and vanilla flavored Boca Java iced coffee for energy.
 I have a new tube of Tollhouse Cookie Dough in the fridge for sustenance.[/list]

I just can't I haven't been to sales and leases in weeks, and I only have a couple absences left in my other classes-and I am saving them for next Tuesday to get the CG WoW guild up and running

I may end up being awake when it unlocks and load it up, but no play for me tonight

i was going to catch a quick nap before 3am...it's not panning out though.  i was flipping through tv channels before i dozed off on the couch and came across Long Way Around, ewan mcgregor's motorcycle trip around the world, on Bravo...very interesting show.  so now it's 1:30am and i'm still awake.  only 90 minutes to go though

has anyone else checked the Steam Network Status recently?  i think it's pretty interesting that the available bandwidth took a significant jump a little while ago...guess they're gearing up for the big moment...

ooh, almost forgot.  my manager has connections with valve and was able to visit the offices last week.  got a chance to speak with the big man himself and ask him a few questions.  valve has an unusual office decoration in the entry, a large cast iron water valve.  the office is also arranged somewhat like the mesa complex; crates stacked around, beautiful carpet and bare slab floors in the halls.  manager thought it very unusual to look at.

he also got to play with the gravity gun a little.  i can't wait to use this in action.  

60 minutes.  97%.  yay!
