So I had a dream last night that at E3, Valve announced that HL3 was available to play. A big suprise announcement that shocked every body since I'm sure everyone thought it would just be an announcement that it was in development.
Part of me thinks that would happen, but the other part thinks that couldn't because of the retail aspect. What I don't understand is that why should Valve/Steam care if the retail store gets the game... Unfair advantage? You don't see games/apps from apple or android being sold at stores, other than their online component. Why does Valve and others have to make their games readily available. Especially when their games are steam games. I know it would give people better accessibility to their product, but I can guarantee that most people would download it if it was available only on Steam. In fact some games you do, even though you bought the physical copy.
Anyways, that was my dream, my other dream that my parents bought a house 2 doors down :shock: :shock:

Well, you know, consoles. That's kind of a big market too. ... and this wouldn't work for digital distribution why? They could have it release online and have it in stores for 2 weeks from now. Plus, they could go all "online only".  |
