I would suspect they would be almost identical builds, especially since the beta just recently updated again....or so i heard.

From what I've read, the Demo will last you for about 30-60 minutes of gameplay, while the Beta offers all of the classes as well as more content to play (er, test) through.

The ReadMe on Gamespot says it's XP compatible and DX10 compatible.

Exactly how I thought it would be. Well that's a no-brainer anyway. I like it so far for what it is. Mind you I would need a much better computer to see this thing running full-bore. I have most settings at medium and it is more than adequate(eye candy)
Textures seem a little bland and mushy close up, but thats on medium settings.

Easy to understand UI..
I've done a few quests and tried out the different items you get and all seems fine. I imagine this is the kind of game that will only get better as you go on. I love the multi-shot for the marksman....

Anyway......Once I finally upgrade this dinosaur I'm typing on, I will get this game and put her on highest settings and I'm sure I'll be blown away.

Is anybody playing the demo on vista with a dirextx 10 card. I am unable to get it to work with directx10 using vista and a Nvidia 8800 GTS... It says it's using DirectX 9 in the options... Any help would be appreciated.

DirectX10 performance seems to be slow as slot....or not enabled yet. who knows.

Does Vista have a memory leak issue with the game? Any long time beta testers know the answer and can give some hints as to if this will be fixed in retail?

Anyone else having trouble with the demo? I get to the covent garden steam tunnels or whatever they are, past the street area, and then I simply can't proceed. Like the designers didnt put in the exit or something. There's a generator looking thing/room, but it's not interactible.

I'm getting the same thing.  It's like I missed a quest somewhere or something.

As for DX10, I can't change it either.  The main app looks to be hellgateDemo_sp_dx9_x86, so I'm guessing DX10 just isn't available.

I put a little time in last night (XP system, DirectX9 version). I enjoyed it more than I expected. I prefer playing in 3rd person and wish the character models were a bit more animated when you've got the camera pulled back. I think I also reached the spot where I'm out of quests and not quite sure where to go (maybe the demo just ends there?  ). I'm not sure if slogging through the hell-ridden streets and underground of London is going to fulfill my preference for varied environments, but generally I had a good time and stayed up too late.

I temporarily ruined my right wrist playing the click-crazy Titan Quest: Immortal Throne expansion so I'm actually happy this game uses MMO/FPS style movement controls, and that at least with the rifle stuff it isn't quite as click crazy as I expected a Diablo "spiritual successor" to be.
