Glycerine discovered that he doesn't have the game disc right now, but he's trying to solve the problem. We're awaiting a solution.

As TiLT noted, a friend of mine borrowed the game and returned the case with no disc.  He's out of town for a week, and so far I have not been able to find a copy at the local video stores.  I don't want to hold things up any longer, so I will forfeit to TiLT so you guys can keep things moving.

If your friend was coming back with the disc sooner I'd want to wait on it, but since he won't be back till mid next week (and then you'd still have to coordinate with TiLT after that) I guess we'll go ahead and give the match to TiLT.  With your best Balrog impression tell your friend he owes you your cut of the fight money he cost you!

I won't be able to update the bracket picture until this evening, but gellar, you're up against TiLT.

Glycerine, please keep Zoidberg from GWJ updated about when you think you'll be able to get your disc back since I think he's eager to play you.  (Jlaakso is absent for a bit, too, so the other PS3 loser's bracket match will be delayed as well.)

I also wanted to see what the pros around here think of the Street Fighter IV FightStick from MadCatz?  I was thinking of picking one up, but have heard horror stories about a washer on the inside of the stick rubbing against some contacts on the board, which will eventually cause it to fail.  Has anyone bought one of these, or heard about this issue?

Yep, and it's completely dead.  Sucks too, because I was really wanting to give it a spin and see how it plays.

I swapped the stick out for another one at a different store, and it's crap as well.  It worked for about 5 minutes, then it wouldn't register towards the right half the time.

I've since come to the conclusion that, like most other MadCatz products, these suck complete ass.

YMMV on the FightPad, too, unfortunately.  For some people it works great but I've also heard a fair number of reports of problems developing with the d-pad.

I haven't had any problems within the game with the fightpad.  I don't think the buttons (start, select, turbo) are well marked and the pad is annoying to use for typing (seems to double hit letters regardless of the turbo setting).  I still prefer my namco arcade stick, though.  It's just what I'm used to.  I could probably get used the the pad if I had to.

Great match TiLT!  Sorry for all the jumping around, I have a MadCatz pad and it started freaking out on me.  Hopefully new batteries will take care of it.
