GTA:SA Question

This may seem like a dumb question, but I'm going to ask it anyway. At what point do the other cities "unlock" for you? We've been playing it for awhile and are still in Los Santos. We've done all the missions except the lowrider ones, and we've taken over more than half of the first city.
Thanks for the help!

from the OSG, you must pass 5 missions before the los santos finale strand opens up. those are the Sweet, ryder, big smoke, cesar, and OG loc strands. so, in essence, you need to do the lowrider missions and then sweets finale strand will open up. finish those, and the next area opens.

Well after those missions you will go to "Badland" which is more of a Country-side than anythign else. Then you do around 11-13 missions on Badlands and you will go to San Fierro, there is where I am now. Have fun
Cuse it kicks ass!

How do you take over territories? Is it just by doing drive-bys?

If you get out and kill like 3 enemy gang members on foot it'll trigger a gangwar. Then if you survive 3 waves of the enemy, you'll take the territory, although it seemed to me that if you MADE it to third wave, the territory would usually belong to you when you got back from the hospital.

Also, you have to reach the story mission that "unlocks" turf wars which is the mission "Doberman" I believe.

If you are low on money you could go around killing Druge dealers they are always packed with cash.
They will stand on the corners just waiting for a buyer approach them and they will ask you if you need a fix.
I have gotten up to $1500 from one guy.
