PIC HAS BEEN TAKEN DOWN Notice the 1-2 players thing on the back...everyone is going crazy over this on the various GTA forums right now. Rockstar has been strong arming sites into banning anyone that posts leaked info or scans of the manual/boxart. IGN/Gamespot and GTAGaming have been banning anyone that even mentions the boxart or manual scans. Luckily, some sites are telling Rockstar to shove it and are allowing talk about it. It's just a game Rockstar, chill. FREE SPEECH RULES!

Yeah, in a certain mission, you save a girl, and she becomes your girlfriend. Then in certain driveby shooting missions, she's in your ride, and one person drives, and the other shoots. That's basically it.

Woah...looks like Rockstar is freaking out over these images of the box art. Looks like the cat was let out of the bag too soon... From GTAGaming.com: I've been asked specifically by Rockstar to do what I can to prevent these images from spreading anywhere.
We're going to have to take the tough line on this and ban anyone who reproduces them on the forum. IGN is also threatening bans to anyone that posts the pictures.... So is Gamespot. Sheesh. :?

That's basically it. If it's just that, then why is Rockstar freaking out about people finding out about it? Something tells me there might be a co-op mode that was going to be a big secret...but the cat was let out of the bag a little too soon.

FINALLY. I've been waiting to play GTA with my fiance multiplayer since I found out GTA 3 wouldn't have the multiplayer of GTA 2.
If this is true KUDOS ROCKSTAR.

If they put 1-2 players on the back just for a couple instances of using some girl in drive bys then thats sad. Now, co-op sounds awesome, but do you think it would work very well?

Actually, I heard that it would unlock 2 person missions on the map that can be played co-op through both (shows up different from 1 person missions) and there are several under wraps 2 player minigames.
This is the kind of polished multiplayer Rockstar abandoned deathmatch in GTA3 for. They wanted a multiplayer experience as immersive as their single player experience (Read Co-op). It sounds like more than drivebys and that the 2 player stuff might happen throughout rather than just in specific missions, but I could be wrong.

Well, I haven't been told to pull it yet. So, enjoy your picture while it lasts.

Heh, lets see if this gets the thread locked... A German magazine has leaked the whole map for San Andreas. 2/3rds of the map was revealed already, but Las Ventura is new.

Actually, that map's not completely correct. It was ripped off the German official website and Rockstar admitted it was a placeholder map of sorts. The official Las Venturas map will be out soon and look at least a little different I believe.

Rockstar Games and Interscope Records Reveal Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Soundtrack Details
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Double CD and 8 CD Box Soundtrack Set available in November
New York, NY – October 18, 2004 - Rockstar Games, the world-renowned publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTWO), and Interscope Records, a part of Universal Music Group, proudly announce the release of a double CD soundtrack as well as an 8 CD box set soundtrack to the highly-anticipated videogame Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, the next installment in the best-selling Grand Theft Auto franchise. The double CD and box set are scheduled for release on November 23rd, 2004 in the US and November 22nd, 2004 throughout Europe.
As a bonus the official soundtrack double CD will feature a separate stand-alone DVD containing 'The Introduction', the cinematic prologue to Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. ‘The Introduction’ tells the full story of the events leading up to CJs return to San Andreas. Why was he forced to come back? What is he leaving behind and what is he really walking into? This exclusive prequel is not available anywhere else and has been crafted with the highest production standards Rockstar is famous for. Look for some familiar faces making a surprise return. With the game set in the early 1990’s, the Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas soundtrack will feature a large variety of tracks spanning the FM radio dial of the West Coast during this particularly influential period in American music and culture. The double CD will feature a mix of select tracks from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas’ many in-game radio stations while each album of the 8 CD box set will replicate a music station from the game featuring a broader selection of tracks ranging from contemporary west coast and classic east coast hip-hop, funk, rare groove, new jack swing and contemporary soul, alternative rock, classic rock, reggae and country.
In-game radio stations have become one of the signature aspects of the Grand Theft Auto franchise, delivering a realistic radio experience by allowing players to tune the radio station in the huge selection of vehicles in the game to any station they like, complete with hours of satirical commercials and DJ banter that cleverly parodies a wide mix of radio formats. The radio stations in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas will feature the most staggering selection of music ever assembled for a video game with over one-hundred and fifty tracks from artists including James Brown, Willie Nelson, 2 Pac, and Rage Against the Machine plus many, many more that encompass a great deal of the radio spectrum of the early 90’s The double CD also includes as a bonus track an exclusive cover of the Nine Inch Nails early 90s industrial staple “Head Like A Hole” by Northern Californian punk band AFI, who formed in 1991. The track has been recorded by AFI specifically for the Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas soundtrack album and as a tribute to this unique era in music.
The complete track listing for the double CD is as follows: CD 1 1. The Theme From San Andreas 2. Rage Against The Machine - Killing In The Name 3. 2 Pac - I Don't Give A Fuck 4. James Brown - The Payback 5. Ronnie Hudson - West Coast Poplock 6. Guy - Groove Me 7. Eddie Money - Two Tickets To Paradise 8. Cypress Hill - How I Could Just Kill A Man 9. The Maytals - Pressure Drop 10. Slick Rick - Children's Story 11. Rick James - Cold Blooded 12. Raze - Break 4 Love
CD 2 1. Ohio Players - Funky Worm 2. Heart - Barracuda 3. Compton's Most Wanted - Hood Took Me Under 4. Lyn Collins - Think About It 5. Public Enemy - Rebel Without A Pause 6. Faith No More - Midlife Crisis 7. Bell Biv Devoe - Poison 8. Max Romeo & The Upsetters - Chase The Devil 9. Eric B & Rakim - I Know You Got Soul 10. Willie Nelson - Crazy
Bonus Track: 11. AFI - Head Like A Hole

Yeah, well I like a couple of the songs, but most are songs I have never heard of before. I am hoping that the full soundtrack has a few more popular songs on it and not just "easy/cheap to license" throwaways.
Anyway, someone on the IGN boards has the manual and put up a couple pics of it, before the whole topic was deleted over on their forums... :\

I'm willing to give Rockstar the benefit of the doubt considering the excellent job they did on the Vice City soundtrack.
I know the RATM, Eddie Money, Slick Rick, PE, Heart, FNM, BBD, and Willie Nelson tunes. I'm pretty sure the 2pac song is the song Mike Bolton is listening to during the commute in Office Space.

If I recall the scene in Office Space correctly, the song Michael Bolton is listening to is "No Tears" by Scarface.
Don't ask why I know this.

One cool feature I read about was that the music quality varies depending on teh quality of the car itself (more bass, etc).

I don't know what happened to the pic. Rockstar probabily had it removed from whoever was hosting it, cause it was a big red X this morning.

I was wondering, as to my knowledge, we here at CG didn't do anything to it. I did save it though. Maybe if you ask real nice, I can boost it onto my local Cox account...

My opinion, some of the songs look good....but there are tons that were left out that would have been much better.
I mean, they have NWA, but why in the world do they have Express Yourself and Always Into Something....when they could have used F*ck the Police or 100 Miles and Runnin, I mean those songs were SCREAMING to be in this game!! :?

Good question. Also where is Nine Inch Nails?? I mean they have a freaking cover version of Head Like A Hole on the CD, but not the original song in the game? *sigh* At least it has Freebird!

The Who - Experience Front Eminence Front I think the Alt station looks terrific, not a song on there I don't like. And to answer Rob's question, I can clearly remember hearing Ozzy on the alt-rock station in the early nineties. The funk station should be great too. The rap station should be good too, though I don't know why they didn't have any PE on there since Chuck D is the DJ. Call me a fanboy, I think it will be great.

The only time I ever heard Ozzy on an Alternative station when the DJ was feeling goofy and played staying alive.

The only thing I can think why they are having a fit, is that they don't want it announced because maybe they are having problems with co-op mode, and if they can't get it fixed, they would just pull it and nobody would know the difference. Now that the picture is out, and people know of a co-op mode being in exisitence, there will be an outcry if they cut it.

I think that's unlikely, the game ships in less than a week. No way they could get new packaging redesigned, printed, and in the factory for processing in time.
The simple explanation is that it's Rockstar's intellectual property and they didn't want unauthorized use of it on the web before they chose to have it on the web. Anyway, that's my take.
