I think it looks pretty good.  Not knock my socks off blow my doors down, but good.  The lighting looks really good and I'm guessing the city is going to be huge.  Better be anyway.  Also glad to see they dropped the "gangsta" crap.

The lighting does look good...but the rest of it is just blah. I don't know, it looks like another GTA clone....and we have a ton of those now.

It just looks like the same old, same old. Time for something fresh Rockstar. This cow has been milked dry.

Haha, yeah, that's why the whole damn internet goes down for a trailer.  Nope, this cow is still as fat as it ever was.  As a GTA fan, I couldn't be happier smile

Looked pretty good to me.  I didn't expect them to change the formula too much.  Why tamper with the formula that has sold a bazillion copies?  I like the immigrant coming to New York angle.

Looks good visually to me. It isn't Gears of War, but games like this are about playing, not being pretty.

Looks pretty cool.  Not the biggest fan of GTA games... but I'm glad they decided to get away from the whole "gangsta" vibe from San Andreas.

Looks fine but it doesn't really feel like there is hook this time like Vice City (Miami in the 80s) and San Andreas (California Gangs in the 90s) had.  Which doesn't necessarilly impact the quality of the final product but doesn't make the trailer particularly compelling.

Exactly what I was thinking. The other games had a new hook to them, like the 80's or 90's Rap thing....but this just looks like some generic mob/gang thing set in....oh wow, Liberty City...again.

I dunno, I'm sure it will be cool and all....but this trailer sure was a letdown, IMO.

Here's a streaming version that still seems to be going fairly strong. It's kind low res, though. Game still looks great, though.

This page has a link to all the usual suspects if you still want to download it (GameVideos, FilePlanet, Worthplaying, etc).

The trailer didn't show too much and it wasn't absolutely stunning, but there is no question in my mind that I will purchase this one.

And I will second (or third, or fourth...) being thankful for this not being gangstas again.

Please or please don't make the main character a terrorist, Rockstar.

Aside from that, though, looks pretty hot. And the best quote of this thread goes to Hetz:

That trailer was short but fucking awesome, there was way more detail in the city and tons more people and cars on the screen. Incredible lighting and shadows as well. Perhaps the "hook" of this game is modern day, not centralized around a particularly culture. We shouldn't be comparing this to GoW and such though because of the nature of the game world, GoW wouldn't look as great if it did if there were a dozen vehicles and 50+ people walking around.

Now to see what new features they will be implementing...

It was a 20 second trailer that basically showed off the real-time shadows and lighting, not much basis to get excited or let down over IMO.

What a dull trailer.  You'd think they'd show some actual gameplay in a, you know, game trailer.  My excitement for the game has been abated...for the time being.  You know there are a lot of cities on the planet but they decide to not only go back to the first game, but actually use New York this time.  I certainly hope they picked up some lessons from their competitors in the meantime.  And I hope even more that there are new gameplay elements.

I wonder if they're going to make the game a bit more serious this time around or stay with the more whimsical theme of past games.

I thought it looked great and will probably be close to a day one purchase for me.  Of course, it's always easier to make the graphics look good in cutscenes rather than gameplay, but it got me excited.  I wonder what time period they're putting it in, i.e., what music I will be listening to.  Looks modern day.  The Brooklyn Bridge shots looked nice.  I'm excited.

Interesting, I took it as Middle Eastern, but Russian mob would certainly be less controversial.  Rockstar's not known for their controversy...

I do the same thing.  I'm actually considering picking up the prior 3 iterations for the XBox so that I can not play them because I hear that the visuals are better than the PS2 versions that I own but haven't played.

Where's the countdown to the list of cars and radio station.  Since the very first GTA, 90% of the time I put into these games is just driving around listening to the radio, grabbing better cars as I see them, and occasionally trying to evade the police that have a problem with my joyriding.
